All rooms are nonsmoking. Ground floor rooms are available and there are several rooms on the 1st floor. Please inform the hotel of any special requirements as the hotel does not have a elevator and ground floor rooms are limited.
Availability in the Kings Room Restaurant is limited and advanced booking is advised.

Building wonderful character. Staff very helpful.
No air con in bedrooms.
Comfortable hotel and the outside courtyard is delightful for enjoying drinks and relaxing. Didn't eat at hotel as meals are expensive.
Unexpected charge for parking. Eventually found the details on their Booking.com page but it is tucked away (effectively in the small print).
Lovely old hotel. Decorated sympathetically to a good standard.
Unfortunately, because the property is listed air conditioning cannot be installed. The room was SO hot despite having a fan. Even the cold water was warm which was not good for brushing teeth and consequently couldn't make the shower cool.

A lovely room and comfortable bed. Great shower. Really interesting decor , pictures and courtyard. Nice bar
Nothing to complain about. No lift up a couple of floors but staff would have helped if we’d needed it. Front desk guy was really helpful and friendly and seemed to enjoy his job.
Amazed by the history of this hotel! Loved the courtyard area for drinks. Very helpful reception and breakfast room staff. Excellent car parking availability. Great value for money.
No lift or AC but to be expected in a building over 800 years old!
Breakfast coffee and tea was not great.
Huge cooked breakfast - would be better to have smaller portions and less food waste.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Kept flowers for us in water for the duration of our stay

A bit hard to find the parking
Had been a very hot day upon arrival was told that a fan was in the room if needed
The room was like a sauna no effort had been made to open any windows and the fan was absolutely useless , my wife went to advise them and supplied another fan which she had to carry up 3 flight’s of stairs and that was a waste of time , opened the windows and had to have door open into the corridor and made very little effect,and wasn’t great for security.
Ended up going downstairs and sleeping in the outside area.
We also couldn’t use the toilet in the room and was advised to try fixing it ourselves , so we had no toilet ,
So ended up paying for a room and slept outside and had to use toilet in reception area .
Shame as location and hotel did seem very nice otherwise
Very helpful and friendly staff no complaints apart from the pull out bed that was awful they need to address them
Sofa beds and having to go next door for breakfast although the breakfast was great
