Disapointing
Cons:

The cleanliness of room 3 was disgraceful. What appears to be bodily fluid Stains all over the cushioned storage at the bottom of the bed. There were multiple smashed tiles in the bathroom alongside a broken bath pannel. Not the standard expected of a 4 star hotel

Lovely hotel and excellent food.
Pros:

The hotel was well-situated with fabulous views in quiet countryside. The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was very relaxed.
Our room was comfortable with good quality bedding, tea and coffee making facilities, and a spacious bathroom.
We arrived quite late, but there was no problem in booking for dinner. The food and the service were both excellent.
Likewise, breakfast was well-cooked and plentiful, and again the service was excellent.

Cons:

Our room was on the second floor of an annexe, up several flights of rather steep stairs. I'm sure a member of staff would have helped me had I asked, but I didn't and lugging my suitcase to my room was quite an effort. I'd be sure to ask for a room on the ground floor, or in the main building next time.
Although our bathroom was well-appointed, the plumbing seemed out-dated. The hot tap of the wash basin made a clattering noise if I turned it on fully, and when I first turned it on, the water came out discoloured. It soon cleared, however, so wasn't a problem.

I have stayed at the hotel before and apart from the breakfast I found this stay very disappointing
Pros:

Convenient location for my journey and the breakfast was very good

Cons:

The shower didn’t work, the mattress wasn’t comfortable and the beams in the ceiling were inconvenient. I banged my head several times.

Short break
Pros:

Stayed here for two nights break, quality of the food and service 5/5, bedroom 5/5 bathroom was ok but dated. We had a small problem but I have to say it was dealt with extremely well. We would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone. Lovely grounds too with fab views

Excellent stay :-)
Pros:

We stayed for one night on 29.05.26. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly lady on reception and immediately went for a cream tea which was tasty. Our room was very nice and decorated well and the bed was very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and the food was incredible (I recommend the pulled lamb shoulder!). The breakfast the next morning was also very nice. We noticed how friendly ALL of the staff were and there was a relaxed atmosphere throughout the hotel.

Overall we had a really nice time and would definitely stay again.

Pros:

recently refurbished room well equipped , super comfy bed could do with some labels on the isolators so we knew where to switch on the smart loo. fantastic views but obscured in some positions by the events marque on the lawn. There is some noise from the M5 but only when outside , we ate dinner which was good and breakfast was excellent

Cons:

A bit better training for the receptionist is needed to improve the check in experience and when asked questions seemed a bit lost. staff were moving luggage for guests early next morning with a lot of chatter and banging of doors/ cases
