Bad experience in a very nice hotel
Pros:

The hotel is very nice with spectacular decor, and they upgraded our room, which we really appreciated. The views of the skyscrapers are spectacular. The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of variety.

Cons:

The problem was that an e-reader disappeared from our nightstand and was never found. We know it’s not worth much, so it’s really surprising that it was stolen. The hotel management was very attentive but didn’t resolve the issue or offer any alternative. It’s a shame that this incident spoiled our stay a bit; after what happened, I recommend that all guests keep any valuables in the safe.

Swanky hotel and friendly staff
Pros:

The location is unbeatable as the hotel is in the heart of Shanghai. We've been impressed with the fantastic views from the spacious rooms and exquisite furniture. Compared to the restaurants at The St Regis in Bali and Mauritius we stay for holidays, the standard of food and service previously needed to be reviewed. We are now delighted to see that Monsieur Bertho, the new General Manager, is very approachable and receptive to our feedback and leading a remarkable team who is keen to refine the new menu launched at the start of April. In particular, a la carte menu in the club lounge is worth paying every penny to access the lounge.
Staff members are a great asset to the hotel. We'd like to thank them for their endeavours.
