Given the size of the property, management should install clear directional signage for the swimming pool, play area, restaurant, lobby, and room numbers.

A very strange experience. Highly melanated people beware.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, What a strange experience.

My friend and I would explain the Grand Hyatt as a "Posh Prison".

My friend is highly melanated (origin: Caribbean), and I am Greek from Cyprus (in the Middle East).

She was mostly ignored. I had several meetings with management about this, and they assured me that all of the staff were trained in diversity. This was not our experience at all.

The way half the staff behaved, you would have thought it was their first day on earth seeing human beings.

We went to the restaurant one night, and my friend asked for a table, but the staff member would only speak to me. It was the strangest experience. NOTHING, as I would expect of a hotel that has the calibre of the Hyatt.

As an apology for all of this, we were given one night's free stay and the most incredible dining experience of my life. However, I think we would've rather have gone unnoticed, paid our bill, and not had the insane racism and exclusion from the hotel facilities.

We are used to paying the bill at the end of the stay, but we were constantly chased around for payment....

The hotel seems to be a place where men come to spend their money in the casino.... Not great for two female friends who are on holiday.

The hotel also seems to be a place for events. Weddings, corporate etc etc.

When there is a booking, the hotel guests are not allowed to use the pool, and there is nowhere else for them to go.

The beach is a myth.

Bambolin Beach is actually an 8-minute walk away.

There is something called the North and South Goa taxi Mafia... Google it.

They have monopolised the taxi industry, and you have to pay whatever they tell you to pay.

So, if you know a ride is supposed to be 300 rupees, but they are charging a minimum of 2500 rupees, and you don't know whether you'll be able to get back to your destination, you are trapped in the hotel and scared to leave.

We downloaded Goa Miles but the taxi mafia do not allow it for tourists.

Cons:

Being treated like criminals. Randomly having our bags checked at the front reception when nobody else was having their bags checked, and we were guests of the hotel.

An insane number of men who were staying at the hotel to play in the casino.

The North and South Goa taxi mafia.

Being charged DIABOLICAL prices for drinks.

I would like to invite the Hyatt to go and experience the luxury of the Heritage Resort and Spa owned by the select group.

Perhaps they can learn something about customer service. We happily spent all of our money there.

Pros:

They properly was beautiful and staff was amazing. Special thanks to chef raghvender, anamika, Shailesh and Gautab at restaurant for being so nice and welcoming to us and our daughter. Also to mention Riya and Steffi they did great effort to help us in celebrating our daughter’s birthday. Roger and royson always made sure our room was always neat and ready. It was a great experience with beautiful pool and scenic views.

Excellent hospitality
Pros:

Excellent hospitality. The staff were very helpful. The view from the bay view room was nice. I couldn't explore all the facilities as I had to cut the trip short due to an emergency. The duty manager and staff were very helpful which really helped me manage the sudden change in plans much better

Cons:

Got the room a bit delayed but the service later more than made up for it. The room facilities / electric switches were a bit difficult to figure out. Smart TV option is generally available in most 5 stars. Here i had to call the maintenance guy to come and fit a firestick. But they did attend to it promptly.

A relaxing short break
Pros:

We have stayed at the hotel before and received a very warm welcome. The staff are well trained and friendly (some even remembered us from our previous stay). Breakfast was delicious, there is a huge choice available. We were fortunate to receive an upgraded room which was a real treat.

Cons:

There is still some ongoing work at the hotel, although we were warned about this in advance and it didn't affect our stay.
