The bedroom was spacious as was the bathroom. The dining room staff were very polite and helpful and the food was delicious.
The doors to all.rooms closed very noisily as there were no draught excluders on them to cushion the noise and light shone through from the corridor. We could constantly here doors slamming closed through the evening and early hours. Also, one of the windows in our room had blackout curtains on, yet the other one only had blinds, so when dusk arrived, the room lit up.
One with nature lots of wildlife, situated on the canal and ease to get on for a walk down it. Peaceful, the fact the swimming pools are included and breakfast. Main meals are delicious and staff are friendly
The price of alcoholic drinks very expensive. No public transport bus stop is at least 20/30 mins away have to rely on taxis which you have to book as not many. Unless you try to walk down the duel carriage way you can't get to the local garages or shops. No signal at all unless you were connected to the wifi
Beautiful building, lovely setting and ideal location for us. The views were really lovely.
I booked this for a friend suffering with cancer so he could have a chilled out day of enjoying the facilities,
I’d visited here a couple of times
And thought this would be the perfect place for my friend as I wanted a chilled out break before his radiotherapy! Some parts were not a little tired
But very tired (the seat in the bar area ) no hair dryer in my room!! There was a party on the night we stayed meaning we were listening to them all night !! But the 12.30am they were outside 2.15am I thought my door was coming in on me! 4am something else and then the fire alarm ! All outside no explanation, went for early breakfast and left ,I would have mentioned this to the receptionist but she was busy
On the phone !
Location was good for visiting hospital
Attitude of the staff when booking in reception.
Appeared not to be bothered and almost threw room key at us. Breakfast cold and greasy. Table sticky. Bathroom not clean.
Would not stay here again!
Staff were friendly
Breakfast was lovely
Nice to be able to use the spa facilities
Room was outdated with minor upkeep issues like scratches and material peeling on headboard, chipped bottom of bathroom door, general wear and tear that you wouldn't expect in a 'resort'
Drinks were very expensive in the bar and lots of the food items were not available on the menu when we went for dinner leaving limited choice
We also stayed when there was a wedding party and the noise was ridiculous banging, shouting, singing at gone 11pm however once we went to speak to reception they said they would sort it and they did quieten down after that.
Facilities were fab. Was such a lovely bonus to use the spa
Bed were a little soft for us
It was clean and staff were friendly
We booked a double bed but we got two single beds
The location and the restaurant food were good
Our initial room was dirty. The restaurant chairs were all broken and sunken the disabled toilet was dirty
We stayed at lion quays as we were celebrating my birthday and our wedding anniversary. We had an amazing stay , the staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and our room was immaculate and cleaned twice during our stay. The spa and leisure facilities were also fantastic. We also had a really nice meal in the waterside restaurant.
We particularly liked the complimentary muffins left in our room for our anniversary and my birthday , thank you !
There was nothing we disliked
The hotel & surrounding area is lovely with lots to do and see nearby. The bed was comfortable & room was more than enough for what we needed it for. Breakfast was nice, although holding more stock of items when busier would have prevented a partial offering.
Some of the areas are run down & could do with some attention, and bar staff could be more attentive
The leisure facilities were excellent.
The menu in the restaurant was limited.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. We could use the pool sauna and jacuzzi. The restaurant meal and breakfast were delicious, and it was very well organised.
The description of rooms on booking.com differs to the hotels description. We booked a superior room with balcony. The room was ok, but the bathroom was tiny, no room at all and quite dated. The balcony isn't a place you can sit and enjoy the view, it's more a juliette balcony with no furniture, and no room for furniture. The hotel description states superior doubles have a coffee machine. We had a kettle hidden in the wardrobe. The TV remote didn't work, we had to reprogramme the remote using Google for assistance, and both bedside lights had loose connections and worked on and off.
Nothing in this room felt "superior", and for the price we paid it was very disappointing. It looks like all the rooms have this 'balcony' too, and I genuinely don't see what paying extra £50 to have superior was for.
Great food, spa facilities were one of the best we’ve been too, clean room and the staff were very polite and attentive
Nice location
Rooms look better on line than in person
