Friendly Hotel in rural location
Pros:

We have stayed here many times over the years on our route to and from Holyhead . We had a fabulous room on the top floor with walk in shower , comfy bed, lift access and canal and countryside view . Enjoyed the pool and spa facilities . Lots of spaces in car park . The staff are friendly and helpful . Close to Chirk castle with its beautiful gardens

Cons:

The grounds need some attention - become very overgrown . The breakfast choices get less each time we stay - no scrambled eggs or fresh fruit salad on this occasion

Pros:

Nice grounds. Staff smiled nicely while ruining our anniversary.

Cons:

They cancelled our booking and didn’t let us know. Neither did booking.com
Both blaming each other and taking no responsibility.
Very long refund time.
Anniversary ruined. Wouldn’t recommend.

Pros:

Lovely Room comfortable and accessible. Excellent restaurant, evening meal and breakfast.
Staff very attentive and friendly.
Reception staff helpful

Cons:

On one of the hottest days of the year, fan in room didn't work and had to ask staff 3 times for a replacement.
Accessible shower and stool very useful, but needs a deep clean, as mould visible.

A stopover en route to Portmeirion.
Pros:

Good choice for dinner and really enjoyed our choices.

Nice to walk by the canal in the evening and to sit with a drink.

Cons:

Why do hotels provide duvets when the weather is hot and there is no air con?

Overall good.
Pros:

Location was very good. Nice outlook on the canal. Breakfast was excellent.

Cons:

The pillows on the bed were uncomfortable. The floor of the shower was mouldy near to the drain. The balcony looked uncared for.

Indulgent!
Pros:

Dinner was superb! The balcony and canal view was also fabulous as was the option to walk down the canal to visit a few pubs in the evening.

Cons:

For the price, it would have been nice to have had biscuits and hot chocolate sachets in the room though!
