Spa was a bit dark
The room was ok.
The drinks prices are ridiculous. £11.80 for a glass of wine!!!
Our entire stay was excellent. The staff were very efficient, polite, helpful & obviously well trained to their duties.
Breakfast had a large selection. Hot and cold choices. Lots of fruit, cereal, a range of hot and cold drinks. Cooked breakfast was nice, both white and wholemeal bread available for toast, with a variety of jam/Nutella/marmalade.
The room was a decent size, nice and comfy bed. Bottled water provided. Balcony doors opened onto a view of the outdoor area and canal. Lots of room in the wardrobe to hang clothes. Iron and ironing board, electric fan. All the staff were lovely and helpful. The spa facilities were good, fantastic massage. Waterside restaurant is a must. The food is amazing. Beautifully presented, great menu and full of flavour. I sat in the little alcove with a view of the canal. Fabulous meal.
This hotel has seen better days. There is considerable signs of wear and tear that should be seen to. A large crack in the bathroom basin, no air conditioning and a very squeaky fan. Thankfully, we fixed the fan ourselves. The safe was not working as the batteries had died. The lift was out of use for the whole weekend. The spa facilities had visible damage to tiled walls. Lots of missing pieces, which is obviously going to cause a lot of problems with water damage. Many of the lockers did not lock or were out of order. One of the steam/sauna rooms had a sign 'out of use' and the working sauna had no lights working in it. There were water supply issues, meaning the showers were out of action for a couple of hours. The toilets in the spa had a distinct odour. It seems the management needs to pull up their socks and address the issues, because their front of house staff are doing a fantastic job.
