Rooms were spacious and clean.
The hotel was clean, staff was great, hotel is small and charming
The hot breakfast does take long to get your order, about a half hour. So if you are in a hurry take that into consideration
Gratis Parkplatz
Not a bad location from the centre, check in and check out were both quick, when we needed assistance that was done immediately. Ample parking.
Tired hotel. Sheet was stained and dirty when we arrived but was sorted immediately. Towel rail in bathroom had a coating of dust on it, evidently not a spot that is cleaned often which should be as towels would touch that area. Grime and mould behind the bath tap and brown markings along the floor edge of the tub. Water pressure wasn’t strong. Minimal bathroom toiletries provided. Mattress too bouncy (personal preference). No net or privacy curtains so if there was anyone in the garden, they’d see right through. Curtains felt grimy and like they’d been poorly preserved from the Tudor era. Same with the decorative cushions on the bed. WiFi (public, not private to each room) had very poor strength in different parts of the hotel. Room is not soundproof, I could hear the next door guests showering and talking. The corridors also smelled of dog. Leaking valve leaking in corridor so a small was pot was placed under it. The wall lights in the corridor had missing bulbs.
Staff weren’t particularly friendly or happy, they seemed to be chatting and laughing away with each other or on their phone but as soon we came in, they were bland and miserable.
Food was mediocre, portions tiny and weak tea. Was only allowed to choose one thing from the menu with small choice - how can scrambled eggs with one toast be the same value as a full English? Pretty sure we were given a used teabag in the teapot as the colour was diluted like apple juice and was not becoming darker despite brewing for 10 mins. Had to request a new pot of tea. We were glad to check out. Also, we were interrogated by the elderly neighbour asking who we were and why we were staying at the hotel.
Such a tired, unkept hotel which I’m shocked is a 3 star. More like a 2 star.
Lovely hotel.
Friendly staff.
Only problem is the website lists 3 ways of getting there by public transport when in reality there is only 1 infrequent bus service.
Couldn't get the TV to work.
Front bedroom very noisy with the traffic
