The location was excellent.
The reception staff were exceptionally welcoming, professional, understanding and kind.
The room seemed to be a bit over furnished and therefore a bit cramped.
A wardrobe could easily be replaced by a simple hanging rail and make access to the bathroom much easier.
Historic building, walkable with secure parking.
Nice courtyard.
Front of hotel there is a pub which unfortunately had very drunk people leaving late at night. Receptionist said no manager on site to discuss potential room change. This was untrue. Later spoke to manager, who was unable to change room for my relatives due to being fully booked. Provided earplugs!!
Rooms were extremely hot, fans provided did not help, radiator outside room was on and not able to be turned off!
Breakfast not good value and slow service. Insufficient number of staff. There was also additional cost for both breakfast and parking.
Unfortunately, therefore would recommend staying elsewhere for Ludlow visits. (Just take a picture of the lovely exterior of the building).
Bizarrely, also had a Christmas tree up in reception to advertise for booking in June!
As this is part of the Crest group would also put me off staying in others in the group.
Location and good car park.
Breakfast was good although service a bit slow
An absolute gem of a hotel! Super friendly staff and great location on High Street. I loved the history of the building, which has been retained in its transformation into a modern hotel. Our room was spotlessly clean, well appointed and the beds were really comfy. In addition, we had delicious evening meal and hearty breakfast. A perfect stay.
No negatives from our point of view.
Great old hotel in centre. Easy to walk to restaurants. Nice atmosphere overall. Nice staff.
Didn't care for the breakfast so much. A bit simple and stuffy atmosphere for us. Better to get it somewhere else. Parking lot is usually very crowded and hard to maneuver.
Breakfast was disappointing and cold
The breakfast could have been freshly cooked . First day hardly any food under trays had to ask for table to be laid and orange juice to be put in jug. Food dry due to being under trays no fruit left .
Central location, parking on site, first greeting very friendly and helpful, bed comfotable
The room was not very clean, lots of dust on edges of panelling, wardrobe etc, window sills were dirty and the gap between windows and screen clearly hadn't been cleaned for a very long time.
There was a bag of rubbish and a load of glasses outside our room on arrival, still there when we went out later.
Nice to have a hairdryer but no plug socket anywhere near the only mirror in the room.
Location and olde worlde look of the hotel. Very comfy huge bed. Nice shower. Parking. Good value on night we stayed.
One of the Reception staff seemed rather slow/unsure. Others fine.
The reception/bar area was quite pleasant, with comfortable seating.
Our bedroom was a little shabby and tired in places. The actual room door had a large gap. The room was at the front of the building, the noise from the pub opposite was ridiculous: shouting, swearing constantly for about 3 hours. The room was so hot, no fans provided (didn’t ask at reception because it was really late, shouldn’t have had to ask being one of the hottest day of the year!!). Staff weren’t really that bothered when we said about the noise, they said there was nothing they could do about it, didn’t have chance to say about it being hot, as she turned her back to talk to a colleague!!
Location was good, close to town centre, and easy to find. Breakfast was very good, and staff polite (I think Erina served me at breakfast and she was very polite and helpful). Room was a decent size, and bed comfortable.
The room was very much a typical hotel room, without the character of the common areas of the hotel - it could have been a room in any similar hotel, anywhere. The extractor hoods located almost directly outside of the windows were very loud, and there was constant sound of doors banging (I don't think from other guests - they stopped around 10pm and start up again around 5am ... possibly from kitchen area?) meant it wasn't very relaxing. Not the noisiest room I've ever stayed in but in the top one.
this was a birthday treat - I could not have been more happier
perfect retreat
nothing
Location
No air conditioning in bedroom and function room made the whole experience barely tolerable
The building is full of charm and character. The room was a good size with a huge and very comfortable bed. The location was excellent with everything you needed to see within easily walkable distances
The hotel isn't very clean. There were many dusty areas in the room, especially the panelling and the paintwork needed a touch up. The floor tiles in the ensuite needed re- grouting. A small.amount of attention to detail would make a big difference and the room rate charged should reflect this. Breakfast wasn't very well organised with no clear order of service we waited an hour to be served with many other people coming and going before we were attended to. There didn't seem to be anyone actually in charge
