staff welcoming and friendly
Beautiful building and very central. Lovely staff and delicious breakfast.
Bedroom unbearably hot. Window only opened 2 inches. Fan pointless. Dirty windows and extractor fan in bathroom covered in fluff.
Central location, good food and large comfortable bedroom.
Breakfast waiter needs some training / mentoring. He didn't explain how breakfast worked and was off like a shot after showing us to our table, without asking if we wanted a cooked breakfast (which we did).
Fabulous historic building in the centre of Ludlow
Breakfast service slow on both mornings we were there. Mix up with evening meal arrangements - was told on checkin that we didn't need to book only to find that restaurant was full with coach tour. Particularly disappointing as we were celebrating a special occasion. Mitigated somewhat by serving us in a separate room with complimentary fizz
Room was lovely, big, brd very comphy, food delicios staff excelent decor great
Pillow bit hard & gave me neck ache but im use to having soft pillows,be nice yo have a bottlr of water in room on arrivial
Nice hotel, good courtyard and location
We visited on the ludlow Castle concert weekend. There were not enough staff on. The bar was very busy and long queues.. however the lady behind bar was doing her best but she needed more support from her colleagues.
Breakfast was awkward with lifting metal lids and trying to serve food onto our plates.
Old and traditional hotel
No air conditioning
The staff were so friendly.
Excellent location, enthusiastic staff, generous and comfortable bedroom, good breakfast, real character property.
Only complaint - welcome email said there was a car park, but didn't say how to get into it. This was difficult to spot from the street while driving in an unfamiliar town.
Breakfast was very nice.
I wish I had noticed that booking breakfast the night before would have given me a reduced price.
We liked everything.
My partner and I booked a room to stay here, but on arrival we were told we had booked two rooms. It quickly became clear that this was a mistake caused by the hotel and Booking.com. We were assured that we would not be charged for the second room, as we had neither booked nor used it.
We stayed in the one room we had intended to book, trusting the manager to resolve the issue with the duplicate booking. Unfortunately, that never happened. Despite numerous emails and phone calls—almost all initiated by me, with very little effort from the hotel—the manager refused to issue a refund. Booking.com advised that the hotel needed to process the refund because they had incorrectly marked us as a "no-show" for the second room. Even though we provided proof that we had never booked or occupied that room, the hotel still refused to refund us.
To make matters worse, the manager was extremely unprofessional, openly criticising Booking.com and telling us they were "useless" and made these mistakes all the time. Regardless of where the error originated, the hotel failed to take responsibility or help resolve the situation.
The room we did stay in also had a missing window pane, yet we were never offered an alternative room.
Overall, I am now £117 out of pocket because of a booking error that was not my fault. There was no apology, no accountability, and no satisfactory resolution. I would not recommend staying here based on this experience.
Lovely staff and beautiful buliding

Old & Wonky, full of character
Nothing, it was fabulous!
Location and facilities good most of the staff very friendly and helpful
Lack of communication from lady on reception when our room wasn't ready at check-in time and poor choice of meals on the evening menu in the restaurant
Location excellent, quaint, lovely features in hotel.
Disappointed with the room for the price we paid. Very expensive rate for such a small room, very poor value for money. Well below the standard we expected.
