Pros:

Quirky coaching inn. Decent local food. Value for money. Craster kippers and local steaks were highlights. Staff well trained and friendly.

Cons:

With climate change our bedroom really needed a c. It was difficult to sleep in the hot weather. We only had one chair between us. An easy chair would have been nice.

Amazing setting, good pub
Pros:

It's a lovely setting. The pub is nice, food good. It was rather a maze trying to our room, stairs, hallways, more stairs! The lady did say if we were to come back to let her know and she would put us in a more accessible room.

Pros:

Location was great near to Cragside that we was visiting. Lovely place in the countryside. Bathroom was large - great space. Bedroom had what we needed and bed was comfy, coffee, water and biscuits left for us. Definitely a nice stay and breakfast was nice with a pick of a warm item, cereal and fruit also an option with orange and apple juice. Again main issue was with check in/out process.

Cons:

No service but the hotel has WiFi so not an issue. However we didn’t have a welcome package in one of our rooms luckily we had two rooms one of which had it in. I think the check in/ check out process could be improved. We arrived just after 8pm when check out is at 9 all doors was locked no one to be seen, no service to call and no instructions. We had to knock on all windows and doors till someone finally arrived. This could easily be fixed with a plug in door bell so the workers can hear us. Again with check out no one was around we had to shout for someone to come. Again can be fixed with a check out box for the keys.
