We loved everything about this hotel! It was amazing, cannot fault a single thing! Thank you to all of the staff for making our stay so incredible!
Nothing not to like!
The staff all exceptional, the service and best of all the Vista restaurant. Worthy of 3 Michelin stars not 1. The chef is amazing the seafood tasting menu incredible. I am not a seafood lover but enjoyed every single thing. The crab doughnut out of this world. Feel so lucky to have experienced the meal. Lovely chef who takes his work seriously and everyone makes you feel so welcome.

stilvolles Hotel, historisches Gebäude am Meer mit richtig tollem Pool und 1A Service, perfekte Küche
Perhaps the most beautiful, well run hotel I’ve ever visited. Fun and stylish without being pretentious or fussy. Incredibly helpful and kind team working here. Our room in the “beach house” section was impeccable; the bed was beyond comfortable and the outdoor furnishings made lingering by the sea perfect for morning coffee and evening stargazing. The pool and service by the pool was perfect. Attention to detail is everywhere; the chaise cushions by the pool are thicker than most hotel mattresses and made of the most beautiful fabric. Breakfast was bountiful and delicious. Dinners at both Vista and Bella are a must! My only note of caution is that it takes a good 45 minutes to get to Lagos from here with all of the summer traffic and roundabouts every half mile so we didn’t quite get to explore the surrounding Algarve to the extent we had hoped. But the property is so beautiful and we were never in a rush to leave.
We gave a lot of thought to which hotel to choose for the final of our trip to Portugal. Bela Vista was the best decision we could have made! It offered a beachfront location, a beautiful historic building, excellent service, rooms with a sea view, wonderful food, a spa where you just want to linger, and—above all—the people: we felt so welcome and warmly received. Every wish was fulfilled. We extend our sincere thanks and hope to visit again.
We had an excellent experience. Prior to arriving we were in Lisbon seeing the sights with family. We then travelled by train to spend several days on the beach at Bela Vista. The entire experience was 5 star. The accommodations were comfortable, the food amazing and the overall peace and relaxation was just what we were looking for. The staff make it a truly memorable experience. We hope to return!
This is beautiful place with 5 star experience . Everything was perfect . It was my birthday wkend and the staff of the hotel made it exceptional . There is nothing I would improve. Amazing breakfast , everything was spotless
Absolutely stunning hotel, with impeccable staff and outrageously pretty facilities.
It really made the holiday. Despite being just a few minutes from the beach, we found ourselves spending our day by the private pool and loungers. Pampered is in understatement.
They made such an effort for a partners birthday and anniversary, that we were genuinely touched by the level of service afforded to us. They also provided excellent recommendations and offered to make reservations for us. Breakfast was an absolute treat too.
Well worth the cost.
The rooms are good. The staff are excellent. The pool area is great. Their best restaurant is as good as it gets. The other restaurant is also very good as is the food around the pool.
The location is ideal as the hotel and grounds are private and quiet but the town is just outside the gates.

Our home from home, absolute love this hotel, one of the best relais chateux in the world. Rooms are large and beautifully decorated, breakfast and view Is second to none, pool is laid back and quiet. Service is amazing, heaven once you go through the gates. Highly recommend the spa. Only change id make is to make the pool more accessible
This hotel has bed bugs! This was a total disappointment. We are a dual doctor couple that is very well traveled, and we often travel to Europe twice per year. We picked this hotel because it looked like a luxury property that was very clean. When we arrived, the door to our room did not work so they switched us to a different room after hours of waiting. We awoke the next day to three bedbugs on our pillow we took pictures of the bedbugs attached below and told management. They went into our room without asking while we were waiting in the hotel lobby and said there were no bedbugs. We had actually saved one bug in a cup just to show them and we showed them all of the bites on our bodies very consistent with bedbug bites. The hotel pool and bar were being used for a private event and were not usable that evening. This is an expensive hotel that is not worth your money. I would certainly not recommend it especially if you don’t want to get bitten by bedbugs.
My only regret was not staying here longer. This is easily one of, if not the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Not to mention that the staffs attention to detail and hospitality is PHENOMENAL.
If anyone is looking at spending time in the Algarve I recommend making this your home base and traveling around to the other cities from there.
10/10 experience and we will be back
Fun experience: impressive property, friendly service, great cliff views, and an amazing flagship restaurant. Do not miss Vista and chef João Oliveira. Spectacular!
Our family loved our time at Bela Vista. While Portimao was more developed and busier than we expected, the hotel itself was an oasis, and the food and experience recommendations from the hotel guaranteed delicious meals and special memories for our family.
We had an amazing stay at this wonderful hotel from when we checked in to when we left. Every detail was taken care of and all member’s of staff were so attentive and took great pride in their work and working in such a special place.
We ate at the restaurant which wasn’t just a meal it was an experience and one we won’t forget. The skill, originality and appreciation for the food and traditions of the Algarve brought to life on a plate in a unique way!
