Room was a decent size. The hotel offered a decent breakfast. Staff were friendly.
We booked and paid extra for a room with air conditioning. However on arrival we were told that the Hotel didn't actual have air conditioning! We we're offered an additional fan however this didn't really help too much.
Apart from that the room was comfortable enough, just glad it was only a short stay.
Nothing
Stated limited air con and has it in one room in the the hotel.
staff friendly and it has a pool
carpet on the public area smell very bad
no aircondtion on the bedroom
when it was stated on booking that
it has has all airconditoining
Stayed for two nights for a family wedding. Yes the hotel is tired, and sadly no Aircon last weekend 🥵 but we did have a fan. Room was really big, clean and tidy. I did move the tea tray to the opposite side so it was near the plug. Would be nice if there was Yorkshire tea bags in the room like in the breakfast buffet. Bed very comfortable, don't know about the pillows I took my own. Breakfast was lovely everything you could want. Two things though, please separate the bacon when you cook it, the middle slices weren't very warm. Also the handles on the tongs etc get very very hot. The bathroom does need some TLC, shower not very powerful, toilet flush needs some attention and the sink surround definitely needs to be replaced. We found the staff very friendly and helpful ordering taxi's for our party. Sadly the garden looked a bit unloved, and the front does need a sweep. It does have a gym and a pool which non of us realised. My husband has been in touch with the owner and she has explained the reason, very sad. We were in room 106.
Would we stay again yes. Is it the Ritz no but for around £120 odd for 2 people for 2 nights bed and breakfast, you really can't grumble.
Given option to stay at different location that was closer to the Norfolk show we attended
Location due to lots of road works as we were attending the Norfolk dhow
Room size
Hotel looks shabby
Ideal location to wedding venue at Copdock
Good food
Hottest day of the year no fans in bar or restaurant no aircon
The hotel was comfy, clean and big. We were heading to Copdock Hall for an event so this was the best location.
Comfortable room.Lady on reception (who also seemed to do everything else) was pleasant and tried to be helpful.
The building was very run down with peeling paint and scruffy grounds. We wanted to eat at the hotel as we’d had a long journey but they had nothing vegetarian on the menu as it was a limited menu on a Sunday, so we had to go into Ipswich for dinner.
Had a good gym for fitness
Breakfast
Water pressure in the shower virtually non existent
The only thing I can say that I liked was the staff who were really friendly
The hotel is really tired to do with a makeover. While the room itself was clean, it certainly hasn’t had a deep clean for a very long time.
Everything was very old worn out and really could do with a refresh and bought up to the 20th 26th century not 1980s
We were greeted by a lovely staff member, Aurora who I’d like to give a special mention to. We were staying for a wedding and she upgraded us for free as we needed a bigger room.
Perfect stay and the breakfast was good too!
Location
Windows were rotten thought glass was going to fall out when we opened it . Shower was useless no pressure at all . Whole bathroom needed replacing. Man who checked us in didn’t have a clue what he was doing . Cooked breakfast was a bit sparse.
Friendly staff member on arrival helped check us in. Friendly staff member at breakfast. Bed was big, pillows nice.
Room snelt of stale aftershave on arrival. No air con, fan in room but loud so had to switch it off so quite warm due to weather No parking space available on second night when we got back, had to park on a grass verge, under trees the only available space, didn't want to take up a disabled space a vehicle with a trailer which had dogs in overnight had taken up spaces, dogs were barking and growling which felt unsettling. Confusing which exit and entrance to use to drive into.
Location worked well for our purpose. It was clean but basic, price was appropriate.
Bed was comfortable.
Bathroom needing update and there was no deluxe element for the upgrade.
I was travelling solo but as part of a larger group - we stayed here for four nights.
We were warmly welcomed, and waved off at the end of our stay, by Moira.
My bedroom was very clean, well-furnished, and with a very comfortable bed.
It would be helpful for older and/or less able guests if a wall-mounted diagonal grab rail could be installed by the bath. I have raised this issue.
Breakfast buffet choices were good, and our pre-ordered evening meals were varied and generally very appetising. Compared to some hotels I have stayed in, the bar prices were reasonable and not overpriced.
All the staff were very friendly and attentive.
