The location is absolutely perfect! 👍

When I initially made the reservation, I didn’t read the details carefully and ended up booking a room type that wasn't quite suitable for us. However, the front desk staff was incredibly accommodating and willingly upgraded our room on the spot without any extra charge, even providing us with additional amenities. I felt so touched by their hospitality, and I also want to apologize for my own oversight.

Liked the hotel but ask for non-joining room.
Pros:

Clean, convenient, friendly staff, nice bed, and a good river/canal view. Great hotel.

Cons:

I was solo there 9 nights. I was given a room with an adjoining door to another room. But I felt I had no privacy because the person/people next door sounded like they were in my room. I could hear them talking clear as a bell! Either there was only one door and not two doors between us or the walls are super thin. I felt that I had to “tiptoe” around in my room…it was very uncomfortable for me. I really should have asked for another room but didn’t want to have to change rooms.

Pros:

Great location. Small hotel compared to other hotels we’ve stayed in. Breakfast was ok we’ve had much better. Staff are friendly and hotel provides a shuttle bus which was good for our very early morning flight. Communication with the hotel was excellent, quick response each time.

Cons:

Main road just outside the hotel. Too noisy, motorbikes and cars zooming down the road at night also, rooms are not soundproof we could hear next rooms TV.

Great location and amazing breakfast
Pros:

The location of the Brunei Hotel is ideal for exploring the city centre of Bandar Seri Begawan. The majority of the places of interest are within a short walk (or boat journey).
The room was small, but big enough to be comfortable. The bed was excellent, with the air conditioning meaning that a good night sleep was possible.
I stayed for two nights, booking a rate that did not include breakfast to allow me to be flexible and explore food options elsewhere. However, the breakfast at the Brunei Hotel was superb, so I didn't try anywhere else. I didn't try the Western options on the set breakfast menu, but can confirm that the Asian options were excellent.

Cons:

My window had a view onto an internal courtyard area that was used as a smoking area by staff. I did book the cheapest room rate though, so probably something that can be avoided if it would be a major problem.

Pros:

Location was amazing. All city and waterfront attractions were within walking distance. The staff were amazing - friendly and so helpful.
Breakfast was freshly cooked to order.
We loved the cold water dispenser on each floor.
Clean and well presented rooms.
Air-conditioning.

Cons:

Air-conditioning turned off when we left the room as we needed the room card key in place for it to work.
