The hotel is in a superb location with great walks on your doorstep. The hotel has a pleasant garden for relaxing and a large car park. My bedroom was spacious, nicely fitted out in a modern style and benefitted from a lovely view down the valley of Borrowdale. The catering was of a very high order.
Nothing!
The location is lovely, very peaceful. The outside back of hotel seating area/ garden has delightful views, and children enjoy walking around the hotel and can play safe.
The restaurant, and lounge areas are comfortable and beautifully designed
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like, all good to me.
Everything was lovely. Beautiful rooms and garden, great location and delicious food.
Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Staff were lovely, special mention to Hazel who really looked after us!
Everything!
The location is stunning , the hotel is clean and very comfortable.
The staff were friendly and welcoming
The food is outstanding
There isn’t anything I dislike
We loved Borrowdale Gates. We stayed here for three nights while hiking in the Lake District. So many hikes are accessible directly from the hotel - which was amazing. The restaurant was amazing. Definitely very refined cuisine, and everything local. The food was exceptional. Special shout out to Hazel at the bar, and to lovely Shaneen at the front desk. Everyone was great.
We liked it all. It was a bit expensive, but worth it.
Central location for hiking
Beautiful views
Beautiful hotel, helpful friendly staff, perfect location.
Nothing not to like.
Quality breakfast, with fantastic views
Couldn’t fault anything
Gorgeous location and the main areas of the hotel were well kept
Our room was dusty and dirty. It definitely needed a refresh and a good clean.
The location is gorgeous. Set out in a very small village but close enough to Keswick.
The bathroom felt dirty. There were cobwebs and a spider on our ceiling. The bottom of the shower door was covered in mould. The bathroom was also very small and the fixtures and fittings felt too big for the space
Brilliant, staff went above and beyond to facilitate sleeping arrangements at very short notice would highly recommend
Location to walks
On arrival - reception blank, cold greeting. No helpful information. Just given the key to room.
