Lovely pub/hotel , large breakfast choice - recommend!
Pros:

Beautiful designed room- comfortable bed, coffee machine in room and air con. White fluffy towels replaced every day.

Good memories just need to keep the standard up letting the furnishings go a bit but lovely food

Been a few times know over the years 1st time was when they refurbished the place absolutely stunning few years past and it’s beginning to look a bit like it needs doing again example door missing from wardrobe paint starting to peel floor warn out and outside the decking is worn out and needs a good paint job

Vorsicht!!! Extrakosten… Kaffee beim Frühstück nicht inklusive!!!

Allgemein recht gute Unterkunft. Ausstattung und Ambiente waren sehr gemütlich und ansprechend. Das Essen im angeschlossenem Restaurant war sehr gut.

Cons:

Normalerweise vermeiden wir es negativ-Rezensionen zu schreiben. Was uns hier jedoch maßlos enttäuscht hat war, dass uns 2 Kaffee zum Frühstück mit £8,00 zusätzlich verrechnet wurden. Wir haben £232,65 für 1 Nacht inkl. Frühstück bezahlt. Für 2 Personen haben wir im Restaurant £ 227,15 ausgegeben. Also gesamt doch eine ordentliche Rechnung…
Zum Frühstück haben wir zuerst 1xTee und 1x Tasse Kaffee bestellt. Dann nochmal 2 Tassen Kaffee. Es wurde uns nicht gesagt, dass dies nicht inklusive ist. Erst beim Check out wurden die £ 8,00 dann verlangt obwohl wir die Zimmerrechnung bereits am Vorabend bezahlt hatten. Wir waren echt perplex und wollten wegen des zusätzlichen Betrags keine Diskussion. Wir sind wirklich sehr viel unterwegs aber so etwas ist uns weltweit noch NIE untergekommen. Kaffee war bisher bei jedem Frühstück überall inkludiert - auch eine zweite oder sogar dritte Tasse… so viel Geiz und Kleinlichkeit des Tagesgebers wie hier haben wir wirklich noch nie erlebt. Wir sind sehr enttäuscht von dieser Unterkunft und können leider nur abraten - wer weiß was sie einem noch alles zusätzlich berechnen werden. Ich wünsche dem Gastgeber mehr Gespür für Fairness und Gastlichkeit und nicht nur für Finanzen.

Pros:

Really lovely hotel, friendly staff and gorgeous food. We stayed Sunday so had Sunday lunch menu which was lovely. Breakfast also really nice with everything good quality. We stayed prior to our cruise and its only a short drive to Dover, would definitely stay again and would recommend.

Generous breakfast offered over extended hours. Dining room very cosy.

Cons:

Charged extra for espresso coffee, without advice beforehand. Added to check out bill.

Given steep and narrow stairs of heritage building, offer of help with luggage should have been made.

Amazing accommodation in an idyllic setting.
Pros:

The Alkham Valley is delightful and to find this level of accommodation in such an idyllic location is a huge bonus. From the minute we arrived we were treated like special guests. The staff are very focussed on our comfort. The room was good. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water and towels. Bottled water each day very much appreciated. The breakfast each day was excellent. We dined in and it to was amazing with local produce on offer. The free brownies each day. The coffee machine. There was free secure parking for our hire car. It's was an amazing stay. Highly recommend and if we are back we will stay again.

Cons:

One small thing was the power points are all at knee level which made it a bit difficult to plug in the phone for charging. This might have only been in our room.
