It is in a good location.
As we had to check in at night, the staff member was hesitant to let us in. I had to explain that we had been at the hospital and he unwelcomely checked us in.
Lovely hotel with a beautiful bathroom and in a lovely location
Great location and good parking option. Helpful staff.
Room was bit dated. Room cleanliness overall was good but blind spots for dust on bed frame and other surfaces. When we stayed when weather was extremely hot. Room had aircon unit and fan so helped a bit.
Location
Tiny bed, tiny bathroom. No lift
The Tunbridge wells hotel is a great location for exploring the Pantiles, however this lovely looking hotel is in desperate need of a deep clean! It's filthy in places. The hallways and carpets need a good clean, and our room wasn't too far behind. That said the bedding and towels were crisp and fresh, and the front of house staff very polite. We only stayed one night and it was a hot one. Unfortunately the air-conditioning wasn't working, so we had to open a window, which was filthy, but that was short lived, as the pigeons tried to get in. Anyway, this is a hotel with lots of potential, it just needs a good clean and a bit of maintenance. We stayed one night, and wouldn't recommend as it is. We did see cleaners on the morning of checkout, they had made camp outside of our room and were having breakfast there, which was most unusual and not very pleasant to see when you're heading down for breakfast. The breakfast we had was good to be fair, but the outdated Michelin star awards which were on display could be misleading for many tourists. To the owner - You've plenty of potential for this place, and at the rates you charge per night £££, you should invest some into the property to tidy it up before it's too late!
Poor cleanliness..
Staff took care of our luggage. What we loved - having an excellent breakfast on my birthday on the terrace under an umbrella in glorious sunshine. It felt like the French Riviera!
Cannot think of anything that could have been better.
Location
Carpet a bot dirty and worn
Excellent location. Lovely staff
De kamer was oke, maar de bar en de keuken waren gesloten. Ontbijt was er ook niet. Al met al slecht.
Services
My room was filthy, thick with dust, the toilet was stained with urine and there were hairs in the sink. I asked to move but was given an alternative that was just as bad but smaller and with a rickety bed so I reluctantly shuffled back upstairs to my original allocation- 44.
The bed seemed comfortable enough but the room overlooked the main road and was shockingly noisy. There was also obviously an issue with plumbing in the room above me so every 20 seconds I endured the sound of a gush of water and clanging pipe as if a toilet was being flushed. This went on literally all night. Finally at midnight I downloaded a white noise app on my iPhone to mask the sound and managed to sleep until 4am when the traffic noise started again.
The bar and restaurant were both closed all day, the landing and stairs looked as if they hadn’t been hoovered for six months and the ascent to the room was bizarre - past an open store room revealing packets of food dumped on the floor and through a deserted kitchen area. This could actually be the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
The room
Nothing g
The location of the hotel is unbeatable, it is so convenient and easy to get to from the train station or driving. The staff were really nice and friendly and had set up a fan to help with the heat. The rooms come with a well stocked Nespresso machine and bottled water which is a nice touch for the price
It was a bit tired and needs some attention to detail and maintenance. There were cobwebs and dust on the surfaces of the room and
it needed a good hoover. Window wouldn’t stay open which was unfortunate in the heat. There was also a bright light in the corridor on all night (understand this is for safety) shining through where the door didn’t meet the wall and floor.
We were given rooms on the 5th floor with no lift, we were told we had to carry our luggage up the 5 floors with no assistance.
Not sure why as the hotel had many rooms available on lower floors
I also turned back the bed clothes in the morning when leaving the room and found a pair of dirty men’s socks in the bed. I told the manager and he said he would let housekeeping know… a bit late for that
