Staff on front desk and the the spa reception.
Common areas were very clean and comfortable.
Bed was very comfortable.
Parking charge.
At well over £100 per night for accommodation, it is surprising that the hotel`s onsite car park that surrounds the hotel, charges guests £10 a night for parking. It was explained apologetically that parking is managed by a 3rd party, however, the Hotel ownership decides how it should be managed and by who, and this policy reflects negatively on them as owners.
Also the available parking at the rear of the hotel is perilous, being on a handbrake testing hill side.
Good location! Pricy having to park and pay as well as paying for our dog, Daisy to stay. The room was ok! Very hot
Bathroom extremely small - I stubbed my toe trying to go into the bathroom on the bath, so not great. Breakfast was good and nice pool and spa which I used both days after a fall on the fells. Hotel is very dated and could do with a freshen up but on the whole a pleasant stay
Mega small bathroom, having to pay so much for parking and having to pay for my dog to stay
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was great, a short walk from everything with plenty of parking. The breakfast was good and always plenty of staff around. Big room, comfy bed. We had no problem with the temperature in the room but our stay wasn't during the worst of the heatwave.
While the sink, shower, towels etc were all sparkling clean, the bathroom could do with a more thorough clean in the corners, behind the door etc.
Nice spa facilities
Had to pay extra £10 for parking. Bathroom very small, difficult to get in bath/shower due to bathroom layout
The sauna/spa/steam room was awesome, the location was good and the decor was lovely.
Breakfast was included, but the buffet was very limited (esp for a vegetarian) and needing to make a time to go to the dining room was weird: espy as it was to ‘avoid queues’ but there were no queues.
Everyone was friendly, helpful especially the Manager John who gave me a warm welcome. Breakfast buffet was lovely. Sauna each night was the highlight!
Gym and spa was great
bedroom was fine
Very hard pillows. Caused my son to have a bad neck for a few days
Exhorbitant charge of £35 for the dog AND £10 for parking Next night we were ccharged £10 for the dog and free parking The extra charges left a vew bad impression and I would not recommend the jotel for these reasons
Friendly and welcoming staff, comfortable room and bed, lovely pool area. All clean and tidy.
very comfortable beds
staff was very friendly
Good location, close to the castle and the water!
Lovely
No life guard in the pool area so couldn’t use steam room and sauna with my 10 year old.
It was very well located plenty amenities around
The only criticism I would have is there was no fan provided and being summer time and no aircon a fan would have been nice to have
Staff were friendly and nice.
The room and facilities are aged and need a refurbishment.
Breakfast was terrible, not much choice, not adequately cooked.
Nearly every table in the breakfast dining area was full of dishes not cleaned up by staff.
Had an evening meal in the Restaurant and had to send the meal back as was not cooked properly and wasn't cheap.
Traditional but grand feel, the lovely staff, the size of the rooms, tea and coffee in rooms, blackout curtains, towels provided at swimming, great pool/sauna and steam. Location is amazing. Good price to park car. Loft to the room.
N/a (bed was firmer than I like but most people like firmer so can't look to mark it as a negative)
