Amazing location, views, food. Great value for money. Lovely lunges and relaxing to sit and chat.
The awful and chaotic hours for the swimming pool and spa. There are inexplicable rules about when it is open and also children are allowed. When you are trying to fit in the lovely meal that we had and a chance to look around the town, strict rules to when under 16s can attend the spa appear to be incongruous and lacking thought.
Food was good
Room poor bed and bedding horrific .Pillows nasty
I booked this hotel as a base to climb Snowdon from. The Location was good but the biggest appeal was the pool and sauna/steam facilities. Unfortunately during the entirety of our stay half the pool was closed for swimming lessons which means you essentiallyt have all hotel guests using one lane to swim in and for any kids to play in. The pool rules for children swimming are utterly ridiculous. My 15 year old son who is 6ft 1 and a very strong swimmer was not allowed to swim without an accompanying adult. Okay fair enough but that meant I was not allowed to sit on a sun lounger and watch, or be in the sauna or even sit on the pool edge with feet submerged in the water and watch him. I had to physically be in the pool with him. Not what I had expected and in my opinion complete over kill.
Our room was unbearably hot. Only one window opened and the other was jammed shut. The room was very dusty/dirty behind the bed side table (I discovered this whilst looking for a plug socket to charge my phone). Incidentally there were no plug sockets near the bed side table which was super annoying as I use my phone as an alarm clock.
The toilet had a blanket of dust on the waste pipe that gave me the ick.
The only positive about the hotel was the staff. All super friendly and helpful with the exception of the pool staff who were really taking the job of ensuring all
Swimming teenagers were accompanied by a swimming parent with shoulders submerged under the water and preferably also swimming in an orderly fashion in the allocated hotel guest swimming lane.
I would not return to this hotel. I would not recommend I am afraid.
We stayed at this hotel as a stop-over and it was perfectly fine. It's in a good location for visiting North Wales but the room was quite tired. In need of updating. The public areas of the hotel are better.
The room was quite tired and in need of updating.
The hotel is a bit dated my room was showing a lot of wear and tear, dirty marks on the walls and sink, the shower was temperamental and required a bit of fiddling with.
The service was ok although they didn’t replace the biscuits or sugar in the room so I had to pop down to reception and restock.
The breakfast was atypical buffet, not bad but not great either and we had dinner in the bar one evening which was bang average.
Overall I’d say it was an average hotel that is sliding into below average and overpriced, not recommended!
I booked it through Trivago which meant I had to pay an extra £10 a night for parking so I won’t be using Trivago again either !
Brilliant hotel, good value for money and staff were lovely
We really enjoyed the swimming pool.
