Dinner - awful service, ordered starter, main, water and bottle of wine
Starter arrived alone, and nothing else for 45mins
Very thirsty, extremely disjointed service
Breakfast- same story
We stood in front of the Matre Dee and said good morning, he said good morning and instantly answered his mobile in front of us, incredibly rude
So rather than wait for him to chat to his caller we went through to the dining room, chose a table and
commenced self service
After about ten minutes a waiter asked us if he could take our order and it was fine from there
I stayed at Mar Hall before it went into administration and subsequently the huge investment and everything was fantastic
Now it was similar and the staff were lovely, lovely that is until you hit the restaurant, then just a disappointing mess
Such a shame, not sure if we will stay again, first stay was on business, this time was leisure with my wife who I had told lots of times it was fabulous

Majestic, beautiful and well located
Staff were slow at breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea. Forgot our coffees in afternoon, forgot tea at breakfast and even forgot wine at dinner - expensive bottle. We had to chase up after not receiving for 50 mins.

The staff were all very helpful. First room was very dark and noisy next to car park. We were offered a garden room which was lovely thanks to Mick relaxing in garden with lovely furniture and views.

Pillows to soft. Glass door into bathroom. Menu in restaurant and bar very limited. We asked if we could have something from bar menu and something from restaurant menu and was told this was not possible either in the bar or restaurant. We chose to eat in restaurants my chicken meal was not
very hot. Was offered to have it heated and was not charged as second time around it was still not very hot. Our room was not ready on arrival we waited over an hour and were offered a drink at bar. The staff were all very helpful and apologetic about these issues. We did have a lovely time and weather was amazing. Grounds are lovely to walk around and plenty of areas to sit and relax in.
Stunning bedroom. Recently refurbished to a really high standard. Reception and bar staff very nice.
The breakfast was missing some basic things. Pancakes were on the menu but there was none available. Also, no offer of toast. The couple sitting next to us asked for brown toast, but again none available. It didn't affect our stay whatsoever but you would expect to have these basic things at breakfast.
