Porto Solo
Pros:

A substantial hotel in the Ribeira district very close to the river and restaurants. Perfect location.
The double room and en-suite were a very good size for one person. The bed was incredibly comfortable and very useful to have tea/coffee making facilities.
A brilliant choice for breakfast included in the price. Not the best value hotel, but still worth it for the comfort.
Friendly and helpful staff.

Cons:

The lift was really slow to arrive, so to go out/come back I often used the staircase. Always had to wait for the lift after breakfast which was situated on the -3rd floor.

The cleaners didn't arrive until 4.30pm one afternoon. I'd been out all day by which time it was too late to clean as I needed to use the room.

The main shower head needed a lot of pressure to stay on, resulting in an overflow of water in the tray because it couldn't drain away quick enough.

Pros:

L'emplacement est vraiment idéal. Le service est excellent, rien à redire. Je recommande également le petit-déjeuner : il est varié et les horaires sont pratiques, car il ne se termine pas trop tôt.

Je reviendrai avec plaisir !

Cons:

Le seul point négatif que j'ai remarqué, ou plutôt entendu, concerne le bruit. Ma chambre donnait sur la rue et les nuisances sonores étaient assez importantes. Cela ne m'a pas empêché de dormir, mais je pense que l'isolation phonique est un point qui mériterait d'être amélioré.

Concernant la salle de fitness, les appareils auraient également besoin d'un petit rafraîchissement, car ils commencent à montrer des signes d'usure.

Hotel ungeeignet für Gäste die mit Auto anreisen
Pros:

Gute Lage in Ribeira, einmal um die Ecke und man ist am Douro. Auch die Altstadt kann man gut erkunden wenn man bergauf laufen kann. Hotel in der Lobby schön gestaltet. Ansonsten verwinkelt und die Zimmer, wenn man sie dann findet, schlichter aber sauber. Unser superior Doppelzimmer war geräumig, Blick aus dem Fenster auf die 2 m entfernte Wand des nächsten Gebäudes. Frühstück ok in Ebene -3.

Cons:

Anreise mit Auto fast unmöglich bzw. mit hohem Stress und Zusatzkosten verbunden. Halten oder Parken vor dem Hotel zum Ausladen oder einchecken praktisch nicht möglich. Das Parkhaus in der Nähe (SABA Ribeira) unverschämt teuer ( ca. 60 Euro/ 24h). Der vom Hotel noch am Vortag empfohlene etwa 500 m entfernte Parkplatz Alfandega Park war geschlossen. Haben dann 1 Km entfernt in der Altstadt ein Parkhaus genommen (ca. 25 Euro / 24 h) und dann noch 17 Euro fürs Taxi. Wenigstes gibt es einen Taxistand vor dem Hotel.
Das Hotelpersonal interessiert das Parkproblem ihrer Gäste nicht. Man sei Historisch und Weltkulturerbe und selber schuld wenn man mit dem Auto kommt.
Wir sind nach einer Woche am Atlantik noch mal in ein paar Tage in Porto und haben ein anderes Hotel gebucht mit Parkplatzreservierung
