Yep it’s expensive but if you want a breath of fresh air in the mountains this is a good place to stay.
Pros:

Excellent location, even though it’s old it’s comfortable and clean. Beautiful live music by the fire, one beer and a cocktail was around $35 but it’s a nice experience.

Cons:

Look, it’s expensive but sadly everywhere is in Thredbo. Past stays have been reliable and I’d pick here again because I know what I’ll get. $500 (up to $1000 most winter nights) a night is a lot especially when you could stay at the four seasons in Sydney for that much but that’s what it costs.

Excellent stay which exceeded our expectations.
Pros:

Everything was excellent, great location close to lifts, room was really comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful and it was also really close to facilities. We put out our 'green' card on the door as we didn't need housekeeping most days. The hotel provided a $15 reduction on anything charged to the room. That was really appreciated.

Cons:

Nothing.
