Very charming place to stay
Pros:

This place is very easy to find right off the interstate. Check-in was simple and the lady showed me out to the courtyard to my room. I had booked an upper room at the Carriage house, but they gave me a lower room instead, which was fine. It was decorated lovely, was quiet and very comfortable. My room had a fridge, microwave and coffee station. They also gave me a voucher to get breakfast at the Bistro across the street. Plentiful parking is right on the brick street and was convenient to my room location. My only complaint was that they had an air freshener in my room that was so incredibly overpowering when I walked in that I had to unplug it during my stay. I didn't end up using the breakfast voucher because I left pretty early the next day. I felt safe here as a solo traveller and would stay again if in the area.

The Beauty, History, and Luxury of Fort Conde Inn
Pros:

I took at five-night trip to New Orleans, Louisiana, Biloxi, Mississippi, and Mobile, Alabama, and I stayed at four different places, all very beautiful and extraordiary. Out of those four places, Fort Conde Inn wins for my most comfortable, unique, and lovely stay.

Fort Conde Inn is a stunning and historic property in a charming neighborhood called Fort Conde Village. This hotel consists of several old homes from the 19th century, converted into old fashioned yet luxurious rooms and suites.

We stayed in The Antunez Royal Suite, and our stay was amazing. The suite had high ceilings, Persian carpets, and gorgeous furniture and drapery. The king-size bed was the most comfortable bed I slept in during my entire six-day trip. I absolutely LOVED deep whirlpool bathtub! While we did not use the fireplaces, I enjoyed having them for ambiance. The linens and towels were luxurious, and I was impressed by the fact that we were given L'Occitane bath products. The living room couch was beautiful and comfortable, as were the chairs. Attention to detail with historic style furniture and artwork captured another time in history.

Our stay included vouchers for daily $3.00 breakfasts at the local restaurant, Bistro St. Emanuel. It was a lovely bacon and egg breakfast with potatoes, toast, and choice of coffee or juice.

The main house also offered us a serve-yourself drink at their "honor bar," which I really enjoyed. You make your own cocktail -- I made a Jack Daniels and Coke -- and then write down your beverage and leave the slip in a jar. What a lovely touch!

Forte Conde Inn is an easy walk to restaurants downtown, and we passed artistic statues and a park along the way.

Hospitality was superb. I appreciated the friendliness and efficiency of the inn's staff.

I have only two minor complaints that could be easily rectified by ownership:

1. The toilet paper holder is attached to the wall next to the toilet, and it is VERY far back -- I had to do a full-body twist to reach it, which was not comfortable. A standing pedestal that holds the toilet paper would be a much better choice, much easier to reach, and could look very elegant and historical.

2. The bathmat that I was given was very tiny and insufficient. It was approximately 18x24 inches. It was TINY, which was difficult for getting out of the tub and then getting over to the vanity. For having such luxurious, oversized towels, I was surprised at the insufficient and tiny bathmat. I wound up asking the staff for extra towels, so I could use one as a bigger bathmat. Again, this could be very easily rectified by ownership --a large, oversized, fluffy bathmat seems appropriate for such a stunning boutique inn of this caliber.

The Fort Conde Inn is a unique and charming boutique hotel, and I am so happy that I came across it while researching accommodations for my trip to Alabama. Staying at Forte Conde Inn made beautiful memories for me that I'll always keep and cherish.

AFine Home in the Heart of Mobile
Pros:

The location is great, the Condè Inn, main house, was clean, comfortable and quaint. There is indeed a restaurant as well as other nearby homes and cottages which are part of this group in a restored
neighborhood, making it a quite remarkable complex.
This unique grouping of lodging gives visitors much choice.

For me, it also made the reviews I read make more sense once I arrived there. Many don't specify which house or cottage they stayed in!
The bed was nice, the linens and room clean, but I would like a slightly warmer blanket available. Our room included access to the balcony, and complementary coffee and teas any time.
The bathroom was small and it befitted the historic nature of the house. The plumbing is modern, along with the electric, heat/cooling and wifi.
I appreciated that there was a reception on site for the greater part of the day and evening. Also a contact for when it was closed.
As for the restaurant, it is across the street and convenient. The food was fresh, the breakfast served every day was simple, as included in your room rate. A more deluxe meal is an option for an extra charge. They also serve lunches and dinner, menu prices. Check ahead for days and times

Parking is a breeze. It's free, on the street and couldn't be closer.
Be prepared for a certain amount of street noise and marine traffic. Travelers from non urban areas may find this disturbing.

No Boutique experience at the end of the year!
Pros:

The property is very well located and offers a variety of rooms in different buildings. We unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to experience the breakfast as mentioned at check-in. By the morning the staff revealed us that we would have to be O.K. with donuts and coffee. The unpleasant news came to all of guest and staff at once. Another unfortunate point was that all the rooms received a wake up call at 2:43 am ! The phones inside the empty rooms rang until 8 am no stop! so no sleep at all for us. I planned the stay because was a special day and we could have been anywhere downtown for the event we attended. Too bad that we didn't have the Hotel Boutique experience as we expected. it was more like a Holiday Inn night...

For those who appreciate historical beauty.
Pros:

The room and bed were very comfortable and clean. I loved the sheets! (Buttery smooth!) A small but nice bathroom. The facilities smelled so good! Beautifully maintained!

Cons:

Unfortunately, all these beautiful, historical buildings are literally surrounded by highways. Which means you can hear the traffic and large trucks all night long. You can also hear people going up the stairs and the room above…since it is an old house.

Pros:

An absolute haven of a place to stay. A complex of no outlet brick roads, restored period buildings, and modern facilities to enjoy in the bedroom. Great beds, and a great breakfast in the complex restaurant. This facility is unique! I would definitely stay there again. Uber connections are great too, outbound and inbound. Few local folks know about the complex, and it’s adjacent to Fort Conde.

Nice & quiet place and area to stay!!
Pros:

Looked the overall look and setup of the place. The room was cozy, and I really enjoyed how quiet it was at the hotel and the streets outside of it. It's easy to walk/ get around in the downtown area.

Cons:

The only thing that was an issue was dealing with the TV and finding things to watch. It took a while.

Pros:

It is a short walk from Amtrak. The room is clean and cozy and smells nice. It is also close to a few other attractions. A night stay gives you an option to have breakfast there for three dollars ( two eggs, choice of meat and drink) other choices available as well ( charged separately).

Pros:

I try to stay here whenever I’m in Mobile. I love the quaintness of the property—that it is historic and nicely restored. I love that there is free parking, free breakfast and no resort fee. (There aren’t any amenities but many hotels don’t have amenities and still charge a property fee. This one doesn’t.)

Pros:

Be aware that this inn consists of several smallish buildings. My building had no ice machine, so a bit of a hike if i wanted a cool drink. Nice vintage style room. Tucked away in downtown waterfront area. Felt very safe. Unique property. I definitely plan to stay here again and sample some different room types.
