At reception Armando was so friendly and gave us an upgrade, we appreciated it. We were disappointed that Cuba was closed, there are so many restoring/restorations going on even Irish village was a little uncomfortable, if weather is better sitting outside will be appreciated
We had to look for the breakfast area, did not realise it moved location, as stated the "work" going on is necessary but made the stay a little uncomfortable

Extremely disappointing stay – major refurbishment and facilities not adequately disclosed
We booked a 10-night stay at Creekside Hotel Dubai through Booking.com from 17 August to 27 August, costing approximately £1,851.70 including half board. This was meant to be a special family holiday and birthday celebration, with my parents aged 79 and 80, my sister, my 9-year-old daughter and my 10-year-old nephew.
We had previously stayed at this hotel four times when it was part of the Jumeirah group and had always had wonderful experiences. Those previous stays were a major reason we chose the hotel again. Unfortunately, this stay was completely different.
The biggest issue was the lack of clear information about the major refurbishment before we booked.
Before travelling, we contacted the hotel directly from the UK with several questions about our rooms, an additional guest, arrival arrangements and our half-board package. The hotel was therefore actively communicating with us immediately before our arrival.
They also asked about the number and ages of the guests and invited us to mention any special occasion. We explained that this was our fourth stay and that we were celebrating my sister’s 50th birthday.
Despite all this communication, we were not clearly informed that the hotel was undergoing substantial refurbishment, that most restaurants were closed, that significant facilities were unavailable or that construction work would be taking place around guest areas.
Had we known the extent of the disruption before booking, we would not have chosen this hotel.
When we arrived, we discovered that major refurbishment was taking place throughout the property. Most restaurants were closed, the breakfast area was effectively being used as the main food hall, and facilities including the Irish Village were unavailable.
