Great location and historic characterful building
Great location, great balconies, friendly staff
Running water wasn’t working one morning, forcing us to leave for a scheduled event without being able to shower, brush teeth, flush the toilet, or wash our hands. Very unsanitary!
Bathrooms are not separate rooms, only a thin glass pane with a door that doesn’t close - no privacy. Water leaks from the shower so floor so it’s always wet
For an Istanbul lover, with its surprises, quirks, and authentic charm and sense of hospitality, George Hotel is definitely worth the experience: unostentatious and elegant, it feels warm and intimate while being open to the whole of Istanbul from a great location and with exceptional views from the room (20) and the roof. Great staff from the moment you set food in front of the hotel till the moment you leave, including the cat ! I will be coming back.

A lovely boutique hotel … we had a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the river. There is a relaxing roof top restaurant with a great view. We received a very warm welcome & the staff were so helpful & friendly. The hotel is in a great location-on a street looking up at Galata Tower. We would definitely go back.

The service was outstanding. The room was large with an excellent size balcony. The location is excellent and walking distance to all the tourist attractions.
While the hotel design is incredible, there are some small things that are not practical. There is no lighting on the black stairs and therefore difficult to walk up and down as you can't see, so you have to use the lift. The shower doesn't have a door or curtain so floods the bathroom easily. Need the door of the bathroom to close properly as no privacy if you want it

We had a room facing the Bosphorus with a patio which was fantastic for views at every hour. I never noticed much noise from the street or other guests. The bed was very comfortable and the curtains did well to block out the sun until we were ready to get up. We ate at the rooftop restaurant for breakfast and dinner, which had delicious food and cocktails, and great views. They also arranged an airport shuttle for us as we had red-eye arrivals and departures. All of the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.
Not really a negative, just a suggestion. We didn't receive any orientation to the neighborhood or city. It's always nice to have recommendations for restaurants, activities, hidden finds from these smaller hotels, especially for cities such as Istanbul where there are so many options. Would be great to have an iron or steamer in the room.

The location was perfect! The rooftop views were amazing! The reception staff were extremely welcoming and made my stay even more enjoyable.
The bathroom could have had better lighting. The shower design could also be improved, as quite a lot of water splashes onto the bathroom floor when showering. I understand this may be a structural issue, though. Otherwise, everything was great.
