Helpful staff
Pros:

Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Large car park. We loved that the family room had a partly closed off & separate area for the children’s beds, with smart TVs in both parts of the room. No noise from the pub below.

Cons:

Unfortunately the room was really hot (it was a hot day/night), but the lack of air conditioning made it uncomfortable, even with fans.

It took a long time for breakfast to be prepared and be brought to the table & they got 2 of the 4 orders slightly wrong.

Value for money
Pros:

It’s an old property, needs a bit of repairs, showers was tied with a cable tie to hold it.

We visited Ashbury on our way to Cotswold, plenty of parking, a pub at the ground level, good beers.

Cons:

A bit outdated, needs renovation.

Cons:

The menu was limited and served all day. We met friends for lunch and had a full lunch. In the evening we just wanted a smaller meal but sandwiches were not available in the evening and there was nowhere else in the village to eat.

Detached owners, dated hotel
Pros:

There are some positives:
- some of the staff are very friendly
- breakfast is very good. Sufficient flexbility if you want to order specific stuff
- ok restaurant
- free parking
- nice environment.

Cons:

The owner (if they are the owners?) are detached. They don't receive you with warmth.
The hotel looks "tired": shower, walls.... need freshening up.

My dad had a heart attack while he stayed in the hotel. One of the staff (the concierge I think) was worried. The owner never informed how we were (afterwards). Really disappointed by this.

Pros:

Gemütlicher Pub mit gutem Essen und sehr freundlichem Personal. Zimmer war sehr groß und sauber und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht

Cons:

Badezimmer hatte ein paar Macken, aber das gehört in England auch irgendwie dazu 😉

Une étape au calme et accueillante.
Pros:

L’emplacement, le calme.
Le personnel est très accueillant. La partie bar et restaurant très agréable.
Nous n’avons pas testé le petit-déjeuner, mais le dîner était très bon.

Cons:

La peinture fortement écaillée rendait la pièce sinistre. La douche manquait de pression.

Pros:

The location is beautiful.
The staff were all kind, friendly and happy to help. The room was perfect for what we wanted. Some where and tear but nothing that bothered us. We had dinner and breakfast and all the food was lovely. Drinks reasonable prices with a nice calm outside area to chill in.

Cons:

Nothing to be honest. As I said before some areas had a little wear and tear but noting major.

Clean and comfortable, but don’t stay during a heat wave
Pros:

Easy to find, clean and comfortable bed and room.

Cons:

I stayed during the heatwave and when I asked for a fan for the very hot room, they said they didn’t have any. I would have expected an establishment with rooms to have fans available during a heat wave.

Overall good but a few small tweaks could make it excellent.
Pros:

Staff were very friendly and breakfast was delicious! The bed was very comfortable and the room was very spacious.

Cons:

The shower leaked badly to the point the floor was rotted and mouldy, there was a patch of ceiling falling in outside the bedroom. And no spoon to stir my morning coffee.
