No breakfast option, no chef on day of arrival so no food option at all.
The room was poor, the cleanliness non existent. Clothes rail hanging off the wall, curtain tie backs too. No way to keep window open. Clothes left in the drawers ( not ours). The kettle was dirty. The bedside cabinets were sticky.
Lovely part of Yorkshire, much potential at location, especially beer garden.
Lack of interaction from staff, facility has clearly gone downhill, got the feeling closure is imminent
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and I want to highlight that as they clearly like working there.
The location os fabulous! Free parking too
There is tea and coffee making facilities in the room
The place is completely run down. The decor is tired and grubby
You can feel every spring in the thin mattress
The place smells of damp
There is mould all round the shower.
The floor in the bathroom was soft and feels like its going to fall through
The location was good
No breakfast or meals. Dated, not maintained and not very clean
Chambre 1 invivable à cause d’un équipement fonctionnant toute la nuit au niveau inférieur. Réfrigérateur, groupe électrogène ?!! Pas de petit déjeuner alors qu’annoncé car chef malade.
The location
Staff very polite and happy to help with things he could do
Toilet didn't flush correctly and took hours to fill the cistern we were told that it sometimes does this also the shower very slippy under foot the room very noisy from the running of cooling in the building and the TV was useless.
Everything
Nothing
Not much really ....
Apart from I asked for a small fridge to keep medication in & they sorted that for me.
Prior to arrival, the Manager was very pleasant.
Bedding looked clean & towels were fresh.
The pub was never open on the Monday & Tuesday (which we didn't know) and also closed Wednesday when we got back around 19.30/19.45 - whether it was open during the day - no idea.
The only person we saw was a member of barstaff, when we checked in. We had our own key to the pub front door & our room. No one checked to see if everything was okay.
The twin beds were very low to the floor and the window one, creaked evertime you moved. Too soft & thin mattress & pillows - both ended up with back ache & I got bad neck ache
Floor hadn't been hoovered, extension leads not PAT tested.
Bathroom - had to clean the sink. Dirt/dust & cobwebs everywhere - windowsill, radiator, behind sink (can see when on toilet). Dust on top of bin lid. Black mould in shower, so never used it. Hair bobble left on top of radiator.
Sink tap loose & wobbled - and the hot came out when you turned it to cold.
Tried calling pub number & number through Booking.com - but no reply until Thurs pm - but that was the same member of staff who checked us in. Have sent text message. Tried to do this complaint directly with them - but no one is getting back to me.
So have no choice but to go through this channel.
Very disappointing stay - spoilt our holiday and our Anniversary.
Lovely location nice views from the beer garden. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The pub is looking very run down, the bed was not the most comfortable and there was no plug in the sink.
Location was fab for whitby and surrounding areas lounge area was clean and looked after dining room was clean and looked after garden and beer garden a bit rough but the lovely landlord or manager had said the owners where selling and he wasn't prepared to waste money on a dead horse bedroom 2 was not the best new carpet in bedroom new lino in bathroom effort has been made bed OK but pillows absolutely no good however manager went and got us more you could tell he was frustrated hands are tied etc tv not smart no WiFi signal in bedroom not his fault from the roadside side looks like somewhere to avoid dinner was lovely improvements could be made to make it lovely at little cost to the owner it could be lovely. room for improvement
Not having a go just trying to help preserve a local boozer
See above whoops
Exactly what we needed, a clean room nearby to Whitby and Goathland. The staff member who was working when we checked in was really polite and helpful. It was nice and quiet and we had a lovely stay.
Location. Pub. Staff.
Generator running all night. Beer barrels being moved after midnight.
Easy to find pub at the top of the main road in Sleights. Warm welcome to a clean and comfortable room and a very nice overnight stay. Good value for money.
It would be great if there was an option for breakfast in the morning - but there is a village shop a little way down the road that is useful.
Personeel was heel goed. De kamer en badkamer waren niet schoon. We zullen hier niet terugkomen of aanbevelen.
Schoonmaken!!!
