Is it the best hotel you will ever stay at, no. But if you understand the value is less in the hotel and more in the loc

I wanted to review this hotel as the reviews online aren’t helpful as it is either rocks or diamonds

The best thing about this hotel is without doubt its location. It is one block back from South Beach and easy walkable access to restaurants and Lincoln Road Shopping district.

The room I chose in particular was very large and had a full kitchen, one and a half bathrooms and an in unit laundry.

The property itself has a roof top pool (although aging) and a restaurant. Both are decent enough. The breakfast we pre-purchased was adequate but poor options for anyone who requires a gluten free diet. The roof top pool has a small bar so you can get your drinks along with sunscreen, after sun skin products, towels, lounges and small number of umbrellas and cabanas that you can rent for the day at an extra cost.

A further benefit is access to the private beach area which is about 250m walk from the hotel.

Go into the hotel knowing a few things

It shows its age. There are chips and cracks everywhere. In the kitchen in our unit handles were loose, drawer were not properly aligned and the fridge/freezer drawers were difficult to shut. You will find similar issues with drawers and cupboards throughout your unit.

Pre visit questions through booking.com were met with minimal comments or simply ignored.

Parking is also not on site, although when I asked prior to arriving I got a response that led me to believe that. They have valet parking a you can access your car by having it brought to you but be aware that you won’t have immediate access.

I enquired about booking tours prior to arriving to be advised they didn’t do this and there were many business nearby that do. However when I asked if they did, I was surprised when they informed me they did organise tours. The mixed messaging doesn’t help the appearance of professionalism.

The shower water temperature seems to be controlled so you can’t adjust to get a hot shower.

Horrible. Pire expérience de ma vie dans un hotel.

Je souhaitais vous écrire dès le 15 mai, mais j’ai préféré attendre la fin de notre séjour, ayant réservé deux chambres pour ma famille. Je vous fais donc part aujourd’hui de mon profond mécontentement.

Notre expérience dans votre hôtel a été très décevante.

Dans la chambre n°216, nous avons subi des nuisances sonores importantes la nuit, entre minuit et 1h du matin, comme des bruits de travaux. Le réfrigérateur était également extrêmement bruyant et a perturbé notre sommeil.

Dans la chambre n°222, plusieurs problèmes ont été constatés : absence de lumière sur le balcon, climatisation très bruyante, balcon sale avec mégots de cigarettes et gobelets en plastique laissés par de précédents clients, présence de mouches dans la salle de bain, ainsi que des serviettes manquantes à notre arrivée.

De manière générale, l’hôtel nous a semblé très sale, notamment les murs et la moquette.

Le petit-déjeuner a également été très décevant. À cause de la pluie, de l’eau s’infiltrait et tombait sur les tables. Les choix proposés étaient très limités, malgré un prix élevé. De plus, le yaourt, l’une des rares options disponibles, n’a pas été proposé pendant quatre jours.

L’accès à la piscine était peu agréable, car il fallait emprunter un ascenseur qui semblait utilisé par la cuisine ou le personnel de service.

Le service de voiturier nous a aussi déçus. Le personnel n’était ni accueillant ni serviable. Il nous avait été indiqué que le service fonctionnait de 8h à minuit. Pourtant, le 17 mai à 23h30, la réception nous a informés qu’il n’était plus disponible, ce qui est inacceptable.

Enfin, aucun espace adapté au travail n’était disponible dans l’hôtel. J’ai dû travailler depuis le balcon d’une chambre, sans lumière, dans la chaleur et entouré de moustiques.

Dans l’ensemble, notre séjour a été une très mauvaise expérience. Je suis extrêmement déçu, d’autant plus que j’avais choisi cet établissement sur recommandation de Booking.com.

Boulan South Beach
Pros:

I had an absolutely amazing experience at Boulan South Beach! From the moment I checked in, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and cared for. I wasn’t feeling well and was a little lightheaded when I arrived, and Kay along with another staff member were so kind and accommodating — bringing me water and oranges, checking in on me, and making sure I was okay. That level of hospitality truly meant a lot to me.

The entire staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming every single time I walked in or out of the hotel. The room was absolutely beautiful, the view was phenomenal, and the overall atmosphere was luxury, relaxing, and unforgettable.

Also, a special shoutout to Orange Blossom, which is connected to the hotel — the staff there was just as amazing, warm, and friendly.

This was truly a 10/10 experience, and whenever I come back to Miami, I will definitely be staying here again. Highly recommend!

Wonderful with a touch of luxury away from home
Pros:

A wonderful hotel with helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are bright, clean, spacious and the windowed terrace allows abundant natural light. The kitchen is well equiped with a large fridge, microwave and cooker. Our room had a separate living and dining area. It is in a brilliant location, just minutes away from the beach and a short walk to most places in Miami beach. Would definitely recommend and intend to go back.

Pros:

I’m taking the time to write this review because I wouldn’t want someone else with simple expectations like mine to have the same experience.
I spent a considerable amount of money for a 7-day stay at this hotel. Unfortunately, we were given a room with multiple defects and issues that were never resolved, despite making several requests at the front desk. The list is long, but here are a few highlights:
The convection oven/microwave did not work at all. We made several face-to-face requests, and when a “technician” finally arrived, he left after two minutes saying he would return with another technician. That was the last time we saw him.
The dresser in the bedroom was, frankly, in terrible condition. The drawers were extremely difficult to open and close. Even the Salvation Army might have rejected it. The sliding closet door was also problematic—stiff, sticking, and difficult to operate.
There was a constant foul odor coming from the toilet, as if the septic system were directly beneath it. The flushing mechanism was very weak and required two flushes every time.
The air conditioning unit was the noisiest we’ve ever experienced. Each time it shut off, it sounded like a truck braking loudly. These noises disrupted our sleep on multiple nights.
Both TVs in the room were outdated and not smart-enabled, so we couldn’t access platforms like YouTube or Netflix.
Valet parking is essentially mandatory unless you’re willing to risk having your car towed. It costs $45 per day plus tax.
There was no complimentary coffee in the room. The hotel charges for nearly everything—we were even billed $1.80 for a bag of pretzels we didn’t consume, likely taken during cleaning. They only offer two complimentary cups of coffee total, which we didn’t bother with.
Room cleaning service was extremely slow.
The gym did not match the photos advertised. Some machines were out of order for our entire stay.
To be fair, the front desk staff were very nice and courteous, and that should be acknowledged. However, overall, this hotel was a major disappointment. I regret not doing more research before booking.
I’ll stop here—you get the picture.

Excellent hotel in the middle of South Beach.
Pros:

Front desk people are nice especially Claude. Was there any time you needed. Hotel rooms are very clean and comfortable. We occupy 4th floor facing Collins Avenue with balcony. Room was clean every day. We have 2 TV’s, kitchen with refrigerator, microwave. We definitely recommend this hotel and planning to come back.

Cons: slippery floors in the room. TV did not work. Phone did not work. The website stated complimentary golf cart transportation within a mile. Staff said that was not available. In fact the golf cart to the beach was not available until 3pm (because only one staff member available for this) and beach access closed at 5:30pm. Expensive to stay. Outdated furniture in the lobby and room.

Pros: Close to beach. Rooftop pool but views of other tall buildings. Room was clean.
I would not stay here again.

Herbergið var stórt og rúmgott og sérstaklega baðherbergið - en þrifum var ábótavant

Góð staðsetning og mjög rúmgott herbergi, í raun lítil íbúð sem ég var með. Sérstaklega stórt og rúmgott baðherbergi. Það var sutt í ráðstefnuhöllina sem skipti mig máli. Starfsfólkið var vinalegt en ljóst að það er kominn tími á endurbætur og þrif á hótelinu.

Cons:

Mér fannst aðallega skorta hreinlæti og viðhald. Það var margt í íbúðinni sem ég dvaldi í orðið bilað t.d. skápar í eldhúsi, stólar, festingar fyrir klósettrúllu og fleira. Þá var sófinn mjög skítugur og ég vildi helst ekki setjast í hann. Gólfin mættu einnig vera betur þrifin og ljóst að það var lagt síðan þrifð hefur verið bak við borð og undir rúmi. Þá voru teppin á stigagöngum mjög blettótt og skítug. Ég bókaði herbergi með morgunverði en vissi ekki að það takmarkaðist við lítinn morgunverðarseðil og svo þurfti ég að borga aukalega ef ég vildi annað. Morgunmaturinn sem ég fékk var ágætur en sumt hefði mátt vera betra, t.d. voru kartöflunar mjög blautar. Lobbíið mætti vera betra, sófarnir þar voru mjög skítugir.
