The rooms were large and the bed was comfortable
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. Staff were helpful accommodating dietary needs
The grounds were lovely and quiet despite being close to a main road
Short distance to local high street with many options for dining and several shops.
Near a local nature reserve which was very nice for a walk.
Entrance could be better signed from the main road. Not easy to spot, particularly in the dark
Beautiful property, very comfortable to stay in, with lovely staff throughout.
I booked very last minute and arrived quite late at night. Gillian was wonderfully accommodating, waiting up for me and having a lovely chat when I finally got in.
Great value for the price, especially given how last minute the booking was. I’d happily stay here again and would recommend it to a friend.
The hotel was nicely located and easily accesible. Parking was good. Staff were friendly and willing to help as required. The room was adequate for our stay and the beds were relatively comfortable.
When we raised observations about our stay with the proprietor she was sympathetic to our issues raised and offered to provide us with an upgrade if we stayed at the hotel in the future.
This hotel was found to be rather tired, with decor and nick-nacs that were reminiscent of the the 1970's or 80's! There appeared to be a substantial number of ceiling lights, in the drably decorated dining room, that were not working.
For a one-night stay, our room was adequate, though not outstanding.
Noise from heavy lorries passing by the hotel most of the night, on an adjacent road, enroute to a closely located HS2 railway worksite, did tend to disrupt out sleep.
Though the proprietors did what they could to ventilate the property, due to excessively hot weather, uncomfortable heat in the room was an issue. No air conditioning in the room, only a small desk fan.
A light bulb in one of the bedside lights did not work.
We had no hot water to the bathroom sink tap and there was an empty plastic bottle in the bathroom waste bin.
As previously mentioned, the whole of the hotel was rather drably decorated, with the dining room, where we took dinner and breakfast, being of no exception. Of the food we had for dinner, the vegetables were rather over-cooked, almost being of a mushy consistency! The lack of presence of staff in the dining room, at breakfast time, caused us to give up on trying to aquire a second pot of tea.
It is felt that the cost of £130, bed and breakfast, for a one-night stay was a little excessive. £60 to £75 might have been more acceptable.
Having raised issues with the hotel proprietor, some kind of a refund would have been more acceptable than offering to upgrade us if we came to stay again.
A visit from Alex Polizzi, The Hotel Inspector would not go amiss at this place!
Very cosy in a nice setting
Lovely hotel. The room was lovely and clean, would definitely stay again.
Lots of character. Beautiful decor in every room. Ample parking very close to entrance. Fantastic food and service. Attentive staff. Lovely grounds. Conveniently situated.
The mattresses may need replacing as they were very soft and dipped a little in the middle. Whoever was in the neighbouring room decided to move furniture about in the middle of the night, a number of times - no fault of the hotel just unfortunate.
Everything
Nothing
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful from start to finish. I arrived late on the first evening but someone was there to meet me. Room was comfortable and well equipped (even had an iron). It's a quick walk into Coleshill and easy to get to from the airport.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed and quiet hotel. Breakfast was cooked fresh and tasty. Room well appointed and spacious. Shower good.
Room was above the kitchen so did get cooking odour, not a deal breaker though. The hand towel was tatty and frayed.
The crew was very helpful, they never refused to help. one of the best hotel services I have ever encountered.
There was noise in the side-facing room. I was given a new room on the south side, where the temperature was around 30 degrees Celsius. Despite the noise for two days and the rest of the night in excruciatingly high temperatures (I was given three fans), the hotel rejected my request for compensation.
Staff have always been very good here we have stayed a few times
It's looking very tired now outside areas in need of a clean and some attention
Wallpaper coming of the wall In room 25
Ripped towels in our bathroom
Entrance and front door in need of some TLC,. cleaning and painting
All tables and chairs outside needed cleaning so there was somewhere to sit.
Shame to see it going downhill
A beautiful hotel in an exceptional setting.
Staff were being trained and shadowing experienced staff but everyone was friendly.
Comfortable bed.
Large room which was very clean.
Food was fantastic . (We had dinner there and it was exceptionally tasty.)
Hot water took an age to come through.
No WiFi but this was said to be due to HS2 work nearby.
Gorgeous hotel and rooms, staff friendly & breakfast was lovely
