Soul less,
Geräumige Zimmer, ausreichend Kaffee/Tee/Wasser auf dem Zimmer, ruhige Lage, sehr gutes Frühstücksangebot, Auswahl und Qualität im Restaurant hervorragend
Good location near the river but long walk off rob Roy way. Good food. Breakfast menu slightly confusing. We thought a continental breakfast was £3 And an all in Scottish breakfast was £15. In fact it’s £15 whatever you eat
Hot water was v intermittent. Not hot before 730 in the morning and ditto not hot late afternoon early evening.
Lovely comfortable well positioned for the village centre. Spacious room comfortable bed and once a slight hiccup with the hot water was fixed, lovely hot water. Lovely restaurant with good choice of delicious food which along with the drink in the friendly bustling bar was very enjoyable. Beautiful views and stunning scenery. Very friendly staff.
Very thin walls so could hear our neighbors including the one who set an alarm and obviously ignored it as it was going constantly from a very early hour. That and being got out of bed at 7.15 am on our last day because a lorry couldn’t get past our car which was parked where we were told was fine despite there being other vans that could have been moved. To be fair the poor staff member was very apologetic when I dozily came to the door when he knocked!
Rooms were a good size, TV, tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
Plenty of room for suitcase etc
We stayed in annex room 5 which was near the back of the hotel so we could hear a droning noise coming from the kitchen till late.
Woken early in the morning by the refuse collection that was emptying the glass recycling. Could also hear people in the neighbouring room.
Cracks in the basin and the top of the toilet.
Very expensive extra charge for dogs. Flooring not dog friendly
The location/views. The plush towels in the bathroom. The room was very comfortable & felt like I was at home. The food in the dining room was delicious. Helpful & friendly staff.
The weather!! 🤣
Great location, just on the edge of town. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Absolutely beautiful scenery, only a few minutes walk from cafes, etc.
The location is great. Killin is a lovely, busy wee place and the Falls of Dochart which are very close by are beautiful. The surrounding scenery is dramatic.
The hotel is seemingly in decline - there are many things about it that have seen better days or just need to be done better. The room wasn't clean enough - the carpet was old and sticky, the bathroom badly needs upgrading - the shower runs hot and cold and the decor is shabby. The staff seem unhappy and unmotivated - there was not even a smile at reception to welcome us. We had the impression that things were organised to cause the staff the least hassle rather than for the comfort of the guests. Many examples of this, including not being able to order a cup of tea at 9pm because 'the machine is turned off' (which machine? - the kettle??), the lounge being closed and locked at 10pm so that we had to ask to be allowed to sit in there and watch the television (this request was obviously not very welcome and only granted reluctantly). The staff seemed bored and in the evening walked aimlessly around - it gave us the impression we were being policed. The food is not good enough and is overpriced. Overall, a disappointment, and that is a shame given the potential of the place in its lovely setting.
