Hotel from hell

My advice
Stay clear
I booked this place for a couple of my contractors.
The rooms where not cleaned to a decent standard. Stains all over and just generally not acceptable to expect anyone to stay there.
My guys had to stay there whilst I found somewhere more suitable.
We stayed two nights and asked for a refund for the other two nights.
That refund was declined.
Im my opinion booking. Com should be removing this listing.
Especially after my refund was declined.

Pros:

The location was good.
The lady who gave us the key & some directions to the room was pleasant enough.
Parking was adequate, but did have broken table piles of wood in some bays.

Cons:

The room was huge but very outdated & extremely noisy floorboards & the carpet had frayed & moved where it used to be joined. The bathroom was ok, but the shower water was really non-existent, was really difficult to get wet! There was only one towel for three persons & there was no toilet paper available either. There was also no cups for a hot beverage, but a kettle was on the sideboard. There was also some very large cobwebs. As you walked into the bathroom, there was a screw jutting out of the floor under the worn carpet. I caught my foot on this every time, which was upsetting. I spoke to the lady at the front desk, who assured me that she would get this sorted out/passed on to maintenance. This did not happen while we were staying in the room for the weekend & she sorted out some towels & toilet paper on our return to the building later that evening.

My favourite hotel
Pros:

Amazing value, wonderful massive old building . Friendly and extremely helpful staff

Cons:

Needs a coat of paint in places but nothing to detract from your stay

Pros:

Very short walk into town. Hotel has it's own free car park for guests. This is a godsend ad road parking is extremely limited as only available to permits owned by residents.

Great price , great location
Pros:

The receptionist was very helpful. For the price it is a great deal. They have a huge free parking area which is a bonus.

Cons:

It is dated and needs some TLC. But for the prices it’s good

Cons:

Lack of basic facilities such as WiFi, tissues in the room. Telephone not working. Wardrobes broken. There was a nail coming out on the floor which was dangerous. No change in bins and doing the rooms. Really bad overall.
