Cosy dog-friendly hotel with lovely views
Pros:

Very cosy and comfortable hotel. Was perfect for our stay before our ferry. Very dog friendly which we appreciated. Nice bar/restaurant with lovely views and staff were great.

Cons:

We were very happy with our stay and would stay again. The building is undergoing refurbishment which is probably needed but really didn't bother us. It has character and was clean and comfortable.

It was a good stay over for the night, close to the beach and we enjoyed our long walk along the harbour wall.
Pros:

Location.

Cons:

We were booked for a room with a sea view; however, getting a garden room instead was not a bad experience. We were quite close to the entertainment area, but the noise was not overbearing and stopped at a reasonable hour.

Highly recommended, we would not hesitate to stay there again.
Pros:

Great people at The Boathouse. My son and I used it as a convenience hotel to catch and return from the Holyhead ferry terminal (5 minutes away) so we had 2 nights a week apart and particularly enjoyed the second night's stay as a local folk band was booked as the evening's entertainment - they were terrific! With good meals on offer too we were made very welcome at The Boathouse, thank you.

Cons:

Nothing!

Great location for the ferry, but let down by a frustrating room mix-up
Pros:

Great location! It is very close to the ferry and Breakwater Country Park, which was perfect for a nice morning hike with my dog before our departure.

Cons:

I was specifically promised a ground-floor garden room to make staying with my dog more convenient. However, upon arrival, I was told that room was no longer available. Instead, we were given a room on the second floor that was as far away as possible. Managing a dog and all of our luggage back and forth up the stairs was a real hassle. Very disappointed with how this was handled.

Disappointed
Pros:

The situation is pleasant and convenient for ferries to Ireland.

Cons:

Very expensive especially as it didn't include breakfast which was a rip- off. Stayed the previous night in another Booking.com hotel nearby which was also on the coast, was cheaper and included an excellent breakfast. No-one was around to check in and generally the service was very casual. The shower was cold.

Amazing!
Pros:

Amazing location — quick walk from Soldiers point ruins and some flowering fields, and our room overlooked the marina. Gorgeous! Super friendly staff and good food. Perfect night before an early morning ferry ride.

The Boat House is a wonderful surprise in Holyhead. Everything about it, but especially location.
Pros:

Everything! The setting, the comfy old-fashioned relaxed atmosphere, the helpfulness of staff, the food.

Good location and nice food. Lives up to its “Fawlty Towers of Holyhead” reputation.
Pros:

We were catching the ferry from
Holyhead to Dublin the next day so the hotel was in a great location. The restaurant and bar (when it was attended) were good.

Cons:

The host ensured that we knew the hotel was “the Fawlty Towers” of Holyhead so we didn’t expect everything to be perfect. However, she was quite abrupt and was very “stressed out”. Her staff were the opposite and had more of a casual, almost “who cares” approach. The door on our room didn’t lock easily / normally but we were shown that it had to be locked “the British way” with handle up (?). The shower had to be run for over 10 minutes in the morning before the water heated up (but it did heat up!!)
