Great location and staff. Cannot recommend the Suites.
Pros:

Let's start with the good. We chose The Scot for its excellent location, within very easy walking distance of food, transport, and the harbour. The breakfast buffet (available for extra cost) was quite good and their staff are stellar. The bed was comfortable, and the proprietor kindly left some tea and a chocolate goody to welcome us.

Cons:

Now the downsides: we stayed in Suite 1, which we mistakenly thought would be a larger version of the rooms we saw in the website photos. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a ground level apartment with no windows, sited in an entirely different building behind the parking lot. It did sport two skylights, but one closed automatically during the night so it was hard to wake up, and the other was covered with paper. Despite being quite spacious, the room wasn't very useable: the bathroom is huge but there are no hooks for towels or clothing, and the shower setup pours water out onto the floor. The single closet next to the bed was already filled with cleaning gear such as a large vacuum cleaner, so there was little room for our own coats, let alone other clothing. We had to live out of our suitcases on the floor. In addition, some strongly scented products were left around, and we had to sleuth them all down and banish them in order to stop sneezing. For the same reason, we were sad to be unable to use the desired washer/dryer: a nauseating artificial scent remained from prior uses. And since there were no openable windows to get fresh air, only the door to the parking lot where people liked to smoke, we felt unhappily trapped. I imagine the regular rooms are better, but cannot recommend the Suites.

Great location
Pros:

A comfortable, clean room in a great location for exploring Oban.

Cons:

Despite the details stating there was free parking in the car park it is £10 a day. Their details need updating as staff said this wasn’t a recent change.
Although breakfast was available at extra cost they do not serve any other meals. We did find a couple of good restaurants nearby.

Great facilities easy parking should have been moved to another room

Pros:
