Bed was comfortable and clean.
Newly renovated room in contrast to very old smelly corridors.
The washing sink in my room drains extremely slowly, it fills with water within seconds of use and takes several minutes to empty. This made basic tasks like brushing my teeth and flossing unhygienic, as I was left standing over standing, dirty water.
When I reported this to reception, staff insisted “this is normal” and suggested I was running the tap too long. I demonstrated otherwise, closing the tap immediately and showing the water still wasn’t draining, yet was still told this was normal. It is not: a properly functioning hotel sink should drain immediately, and standing water is a hygiene and safety concern. I’d ask that the drainage/pipes be inspected and cleared. They told me they had put a drainage solution but it did absolutely nothing. Disgusting sink.
Separately, during another visit to reception, one young and very tall male staff member stood beside his colleague and made no effort to assist me, even though I was clearly waiting and his colleague was occupied with only one other guest. If two staff are on the desk, and one is occupied and one is free, the one that is free should be available to help. When I asked him to help me, he gave me a dismal reply "I don't know" and looked away, even though he was free and was just staring at the other guest that was already being helped by the other receptionist. The other receptionist was actively talking to that guest, so why was this young male staff member just staring at them and smiling at that guest and dismissing me? Very weird behaviour. All other receptionists were very professional.
Elevators are extremely slow to move between floors.
Corridors are old and smell bad, exacerbating my allergic cough.
