Fantastic hotel in the middle of town , perfect for access to the Tarland 2 mtb hill and other surrounding areas. I stayed 2 days , large room , great shower . Gorgeous beer garden where you could eat and drink . Lots of Vegan food options and a Secure lockup for MTB, coupled with private off road parking

The location was fine as was the room and good value for money. (The internet connection is poor but that does not appear to be an issue the hotel can resolve). The lady I spoke with when I checked in was very pleasant and very helpful.
There was a tray in the room with a glass, and a bottle of tap water. Unfortunately, the tray was slightly dirty (and the rim of the glass which was 'upside down'was on the dirty part of the tray). I drank a little of the water using the 'mug' provided and intended to mention this politely, the following morning on departure -disappointingly, the person to whom I handed my key simply 'took the keys' and made no comment (like - 'we hope your visit has been ok'), so I decided that she didn't care so I wouldn't tell her but include my comment in my feedback.

We were made very welcome by the lady checking us in. Young lad carried our bags upstairs. Very clean, comfy bed. Dinner was delicious as was breakfast. Couldn't fault it. All staff were pleasant and efficient.
Constructive critisism. The mirror beside the hairdryer was erected by someone 6'3". I could only see the top of my head in it!!

The beds were too soft. New mattresses are needed.
Great location
Barmaid was very unfriendly. Most of the other staff, all very young, were lovely although clearly not well trained and not well supported by senior staff.
The Commercial is a brilliant hotel in the heart of Tarland. Worth a visit!

The staff were fantastic! They accomodated us arriving early, allowing us to get changed for a wedding. Booking.com had accepted the early arrival time, but unfortunately the hotel knew nothing about it, but were lovely enough to help us out. Breakfast was also delightful. Lots of choices, with something to suit everyone.
The only slight downside was the blinds/curtains in the room. As it was a bay window, a lot of light came in from around 4/5am onwards. It wasnt a big deal, but worth a wee mention.

The Music on loop was unusual with songs to cover every season.

We had evening dinner, could have been better.

the breakfast was very good.
Because the soccer was on they upgraded us which was fantastic to a quieter part of the hotel.Very professional staff
