We stayed at this hotel for four nights, and we believe it deserves the highest praise in every aspect.
First and foremost, the staff were exceptional. Beyond their friendliness and willingness to help, we genuinely felt their commitment to making our stay as enjoyable as possible. More importantly, there was a clear sense of pride in their work. This was evident throughout the hotel, including the breakfast team, who were attentive, welcoming, and consistently provided excellent service each morning. The concierge team was particularly outstanding, assisting us with transportation arrangements and securing museum tickets, even when official tickets were no longer available.
Second, the room was excellent—spotlessly clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The mattress was firm and supportive, and an orthopedic pillow that we had requested prior to our arrival was already waiting for us in the room.
Third, the food was superb. Both the breakfast and the dining experience at Le Jardin restaurant exceeded our expectations. The ingredients were of the highest quality and every dish was thoughtfully prepared. The hotel’s chef deserves special recognition.
Fourth, the garden is truly beautiful and provides a wonderful oasis of tranquility in the city.
Fifth, the gym is well equipped and offers everything needed for a good workout.
In conclusion, this hotel combines outstanding service, excellent accommodations, superb dining, and a prime location close to Rome’s major attractions. It should be at the top of the list for anyone planning a stay in Rome.

We were very impressed with the Rocco Forte brand. We stayed 3 nights at Hotel de Russie, and the exceptional hospitality was greatly appreciated. Le Jardin has a beautiful setting in the emmaculate garden. The location is great, as there are many options within walking distance of the hotel. The concierge was extremely helpful in arranging our transportation and restaurant suggestions. Will definitely return.

The Design and Rooms:
The interior design here strikes a masterful balance between sleek, contemporary Italian style and classic comfort. The quality of the furniture and craftsmanship in the rooms is exceptional. Every piece feels carefully curated, from the plush textiles to the striking modern art and clean architectural lines. Unlike many historic hotels that can feel dark or cramped, the rooms here are wonderfully bright, spacious, and serve as a refreshing oasis after a long day of walking the cobblestone streets.
The Reception Cats:
What completely stole our hearts right from the beginning was the hotel's unique warmth. A major highlight was greeting the two beautiful resident cats who were always lounging around the reception area. Seeing them comfortably napping or calmly watching guests check in added such a sweet, charming, and homelike touch to a five-star environment. They are clearly well-loved and have become local celebrities in their own right—such a wonderful detail that underscores the friendly, welcoming nature of the property.
From the incredible design to the secret gardens and the lovely reception cats, Hotel de Russie is a spectacular experience. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

We recently stayed at Hotel de Russie and overall had a wonderful experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, with gorgeous surroundings and an excellent location in the city, making it very easy to explore Rome while still feeling calm and secluded.
The service throughout most of our stay was great, the food was very good, and the room, although slightly small, was quiet, clean and comfortable. We especially appreciated that the hotel listened to our request before arrival and kindly provided a pregnancy pillow, which made a real difference during the stay.
The marble bathroom and modern shower were lovely, and the spa area, while not huge, had everything needed including a sauna and steam room. It was always clean and relaxing, and although there were only a few seating areas, we never struggled to find a bed.
There were unfortunately a couple of frustrating moments. The hotel repeatedly contacted us regarding a restaurant reservation that belonged to another guest with the same surname. Even after explaining several times that it was not us, the messages continued, and the handling of it felt a bit dismissive.
The airport transfer we arranged through the hotel was also disappointing. The driver was nowhere to be found when we landed, and we spent around 40 minutes to an hour searching for him after a long flight, especially frustrating considering the premium price paid for the service. When he finally appeared, there was no apology from the driver himself. However, the hotel handled the situation professionally afterwards, apologised sincerely, and kindly offered us a complimentary breakfast, which was genuinely appreciated.
Despite these issues, we truly loved our stay and would absolutely consider returning in the future.

An absolutely exceptional stay at the Rocco Forte Hotel de Russie. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, polished, and genuinely attentive without ever feeling overdone. The location is unbeatable — perfectly positioned between Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps, while still feeling like a peaceful retreat in the middle of Rome.
The rooms were elegant, quiet, and beautifully maintained, but the real highlight is the atmosphere throughout the property. The Secret Garden is stunning and feels almost unreal at night. Breakfast was excellent, concierge recommendations were consistently spot-on, and every staff interaction reflected true luxury hospitality.
What makes Hotel de Russie special is that it manages to feel both iconic and personal at the same time. Easily one of the finest hotel experiences in Rome, and somewhere we would return to without hesitation.
Marco was an exceptional waiter and the food was amazing. Needless to say the atmosphere in the garden is unmatched. Will definitely come back again.
Our fourth time at hotel de russie. Always an excellent experience. Two standouts are Mario at the restaurant, and Diego in the bar.
We went to the upstairs Mexican bar for a drink and was lucky enough to have Alessio as our bartender. He made a drink called Passion which was amazing. I had several and the 2nd one was just as great as the 1st one. The service, atmosphere and Alessio’s professional bartender experience made for a wonderful evening! Thank you Alessio!!
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel de Russie, this hotel is paradise with its beautiful extensive gardens that provided an oasis of calm from the city. The interior design of the hotel is stunning, very stylish and homely and has all the luxuries you would expect. We really enjoyed our breakfasts in Le Jardin, and wanted to especially call out Mario, who took care of us everyday. He was excellent, recommending us what to order from the menu each day, teaching us some Italian and his cheerful personality and good sense of humour was a joy to be around. We also really enjoyed our aperitivo drinks in the Stravinskij Bar and a delicious evening meal in Le Jardin.
Stayed at the hotel for 5 nights during a business event. The hotel grounds are magnificent, beautiful buildings and garden that allow a rare sense of serenity. The rooms are great, but below expectations for a hotel of this caliber. The spa and gym / pool were great and breakfast was wonderful. The hotel staff and service as a whole were exceptional.

I did not stay but I did have a drink at their wonderful bar one evening. The welcoming at the entrance was indeed very courteous and the terrace/bar area looked amazing. Valerio’s service at the bar was top class, great customer service and conversation. This is a high end establishment and all the staff I interacted with were very professional. I will return to stay.
The hotels location is perfect. Situated in the vibrant heart of city near the Spanish steps, the Borghese gardens and Piazza del Popolo. The restaurant and bar are in the magnificent courtyard and gardens allowing guests to experience the calm and beauty of the best luxury hotel in Rome
This was our fourth holiday staying at the De Russie. We will return again and again. The staff are all excellent. Mario and his team make breakfast the perfect start to the day. Set in the most beautiful dining room or outside in the garden their service is exceptional and Mario makes sure every guest is greeted and treated with enthusiasm and care.
The team at the concierge desk are also extremely professional, helpful and friendly.
We love the hotel and our suite was beautiful and extremely comfortable. Our only regret was not seeing the new lounge which was being renovated during our last stay.
