Die Lage, wunderschönes Hotel, sehr feines vielseitiges Frühstück und das aufmerksame Personal. Ich komme wieder.
Chambre très agréable avec tous les équipements nécessaires. Petit déjeuner au bord du lac très appréciable.

Közel van a tó és nagyon csendes a szoba, pedig az utcákon nagyon sokan vannak főleg éjszaka, de a hangszigetelés kiváló. Ár-érték arányban kitűnő, megéri.
A parkolással már vannak gondok, 800m-re a szállástól tudtunk csak leparkolni, idősebbeknek nehézkesebb nem túl komfortos.
We stayed here previously in 2024. Since then the owners have renovated some rooms (designated as 'superior') to include new furnishings, air conditioning and additional amenities to their standard rooms. This was the room type we stayed in.
The hotel is a short walk away from the Ascona Centro bus stop.
The hotel sits right on the lake waterfront and from our room the balcony provided amazing views over the lake, mountains and waterfront. The street between the hotel and the lake is mainly pedestrianised, with most space given over to outdoor seating for restaurants and cafes. If you have the balcony doors open this gives rise to a fair amount of street noise up until about 10pm. In our case we loved the atmosphere this provided but if you want quiet, the balcony doors when closed will render the room almost silent.
Bed was large and very comfortable. Bathroom has shower only but it was a good one - efficient with no shortage of hot water.
Air conditioning was effective at cooling the room even in the +34 degree heat we had during our stay.
Massive quality TV with 400+ international channels via satellite.
The hotel provided us with with a Ticino pass which gave free bus and train travel throughout the Ticino area for the duration of our stay and discounts on museum and boat tickets. Very convenient and useful. The lake boat service stops right outside the hotel making it very easy to visit the Brissago islands and other places around the lake.
Near the hotel are two supermarkets and a wide variety of boutique shops, bars and restaurants.
Hotel is partnered with a couple of local eateries located right outside which provides guests with a 10% discount on their bills. One of them, the Al Pontile, is particularly recommended. We ate there several times during our stay and the food and service were excellent.
Staff were polite and efficient. Room service replaces towels every day.
Early on, we made the mistake of leaving the balcony doors open at night and were eaten alive by mosquitos and midges. The room does have a net curtain as well as one to block out the light, but it doesn't 'seal off' the outside so after dark keep the balcony doors closed if you don't want to be taking a trip to the chemist for bite remedy.
The hotel does not have a restaurant in itself. Breakfast is provided at one of the cafes along the street. We considered the breakfast menu to be 'OK' - bacon, scrambled / boiled eggs, fruit, cereals, breads and usual selection of fruit juices, tea and coffee. If you sit outside you will be plagued by birds trying to steal food from your table. That might sound cute but really, it isn't. We rarely ate there and usually bought something to eat from the Coop supermarket next to the bus stop.
The room has a fridge but it's incredibly small, only about 8cm deep. With dextrous positioning we managed to fit six 500ml bottles in but don't expect it to hold much else. That said, what was inside stayed nice and cold.
If you have mobility issues be aware that the superior rooms are on the third (top) floor and there is no lift. The staff were happy to bring our luggage up to/ down from the room but you will have to manage the stairs yourself.

Traumhafte Lage mit direkter Sicht auf den See. Ein toller Balkon, super Service und sehr sauber.
Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt.
Ruhig und sauber.
Das Personal war immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
In dieser Hitze war ich froh, ein klimatisiertes Zimmer zu haben. So konnte ich gut schlafen!
Trotz den oben aufgeführten ++++ Punkten fand ich den Preis sehr hoch.
Ich hatte ja ein winzig kleines Zimmer mit Blick in den Hinterhof (was mich absolut nicht störte).
Dafür aber Fr. 487 zu zahlen, finde ich überrissen!
