Wishing we could stay forever!
Pros:

This is an exceptional historic hotel with some modern comforts — including excellent beds/linens, showers, and outdoor pool area. Service is friendly and efficient. It is within walking distance of all major sights in Penang and there is an excellent street food court with live music down the road. We are wishing we had never left!

So glad we managed to stay here
Pros:

Nice to stay somewhere with a little bit of history and a little bit of luxury, whilst still being close to the major sights. Lovely setting in the internal courtyard for breakfast and the cafe just outside is good too - recommend the afternoon tea and music in the evenings. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The pool area is small - only 5 loungers - and the noise from the food court next door can be a bit annoying, but it wouldn’t stop me staying there again.
