It’s a nice and clean hotel, but unfortunately not anymore more than that
Pros:

The location, the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff members

Cons:

I was there before, several times, when it was Zetter Clerkenwell. Compared to then, it seems to have lost its soul. The room felt cold, I missed the wonderful and warm atmosphere from before

Good small boutique hotel in great location
Pros:

Great location.

Friendly staff

Good French themed restaurant - coffee and omelette were excellent.

Rooms modern and comfortable.

Bit of street noise but not like there was a thumping nightclub or anything.

Trying hard to be pleasant and generally succeeding.

Extremely disappointing- not as advertised
Pros:

Absolutely not worth the money, unbelievably disappointing and completely not as advertised. Equivalent to a premier inn at an extremely inflated price. I hope an offer for £550 for two nights instead of £750. I’d say it is worth £300 purely for location.
No signposting, clinical, corridors feel like a travel-lodge with zero signposting to rooms. Feeling of disappointment as soon as you get the shabby entrance. Right on the main road so doesn’t have the clerkenwell village feel it mentions on the website and constant traffic noise.
Hotel talks about design and personality but completely lacking in both. Everything looks cheap and made of mdf. Fine if you’re paying £150 a night, not £260 - or god forbid, the £370 full price per night.

Comfortable and conveniently located
Pros:

My wife and I spent 6 nights at this hotel. It was well located near the Farringdon Tube station (walking distance) which is on the Elizabeth line - so a direct link from Heathrow Airport with no changes! The various tube lines that service Farringdon station gives one good travel options.

The hotel is clean and comfortable. Rooms are like most Lindon hotel rooms - small and functional. The hotel staff are very friendly and service oriented. The adjoining Gazette restaurant that serves the daily breakfast is excellent. If anything you over eat at breakfast - so be careful! The service staff are extremely customer service oriented. I would like to single out two staff at Gazette that made our stay memorable: Rahat and Brahmina. Bravo and thank you to them!

Just what was needed for a week-end stay
Pros:

Definitely will return to this conveniently located hotel. Reception staff were impeccably well mannered and presented. 24/7 concierge, comfortable room, quiet despite being in the middle of London, no frills but what was available was very well thought through including superb shower much better than home, gowns, lights which all worked, clean to spotless standard. Perhaps the option of a hard pillow would have been welcome but the mattress was a dream to sleep on and the air conditioning efficient. Well done.

Convenient location
Pros:

The cleanliness and staff. The quietness, too.

Cons:

Small room, felt a bit claustrophobic. Really disliked the colour scheme being red/orange and the orange light in the bedroom.

A pleasant comfortable short stay in a convenient location with friendly staff.
Pros:

Easy to find, quiet and comfortable room and the breakfast was excellent.

Cons:

Check in needed a physical debit card to take my details in case of any potential damage fee but I only had my phone payment methods with me. The staff eventually agreed to wave the debit card details and the stay went smoothly after this.

Great hotel - shame about the air conditioning!
Pros:

This is my second stay at Marrables and the positives are still just as good. The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk from Farringdon station but in a quiet location and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful - even down to a lovely handwritten welcome note and gift. Our corner room (409) was also great, large and clean with French doors and large windows looking out on the quiet square and St John’s church. We also had breakfast and dinner at Gazette - the restaurant attached to the hotel which had great food and service.

The negatives remain however that the air conditioning is very poor, you could only really tell it’s even on when standing directly in front of it and as it’s centrally managed there is no way to manually alter it. This, plus the fact that the ice machines advertised have been removed from every floor made for quite a sweaty sleep!

Would definitely recommend Marrables for anyone staying outside of the summer though!
