Bijzondere plek zo'n hotel uit 1854. Oud maar gelukkig wel proper. Leuke bar.
Niet mogelijk om 3p kamer met 3 bedden te krijgen dus de zonen moesten een dubbelbed delen
Central location, next to river and town centre, handy for all amenities, staff were friendly for the little time we seen them, was easy to find
The room was tiny with no outlook at all, the fridge that was in a cupboard froze our milk, the window was cracked. Considering we were staying for 5 nights they could have given us a better room
Very central
Nothing
Loved the look of the hotel , cosy bar and cosy bedrooms
Only downside was the hotel didn’t open until check in time at 4pm. , arrived on a motorbike in heavy rain half an hour early and was locked. Luckily someone came out and we were able to get in, the owner did let us stay inside until the room was ready though .
The location was excellent. I was greeted and informed of the 'rules'. The room and building were good, clean and adequately furnished. To put that into context. I was using the room as a place to sleep overnight and I was more than happy with the facilities. I was informed upon arrival if I wished a breakfast I should book it beforehand the previous day for a price of £10-ish. I didn't take them up on the offer. Instead I walked the short distance to the local Wetherspoon's where I could have bought a 'Full Scottish' for two pounds less. The free Wi-Fi was good. I would happily book here again. For those who require a modern corporate hotel, with 'key cards' then don't come here. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to all who wish to visit this area.
Nothing. All was good. I did initially struggle to enter the building because having turned the key the door wouldn't open until I figured out that another handle needed to be turned to allow ingress. A very minor inconvenience.
Didn't like anything except for the location
Only saw 1 staff member ever
The bed was appalling. It made a huge noise when we moved. We both woke up with back pain
Was worried about the parking in the water companies car park.
The decor was ok on the stairs but horrible in our room
We check in on Friday evening without any issues and were shown to our room, beds were comfy and room was lovely, with a view over the town garden square. We went to the hotel bar and had the pleasure of chatting to the lovely couple that owned the hotel for most of the evening, made us feel relaxed and at home in there company. We were up early and my wife had breakfast and said it was delicious that the next morning we left and were sorry not to say good by, hope to see you again.
Breakfast was very good value for money. The hotel was in a great location. Very friendly helpful staff.
Early check in was great. Comfortable bed, lovely hot shower. Was here for the Caterin Yomp.
Nothing
Having booked 2 breakfasts, one of which was dairy and gluten free, and that request was accepted and I was told that there would be no extra charge, I was disappointed to be told that they could not provide a gluten free and dairy free breakfast. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. The reason given was not credible.
Sehr zentrale Lage, Zimmer gut, nette Einweisung
The room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful four-poster bed. As well as two single beds at the other end of the room. It had a large TV screen and a cute vintage drinks trolley used to display kettle and tea/coffee making things. The staff were friendly and greeted us warmly. The hotel is centrally located and a short walk from beautiful riverside park.
Although we did not order breakfast. We spoke with other guests who had enjoyed their breakfast, and they highly recommended it to us.
The room really had no view only onto the side of the back of somones yard used to store beer kegs. It could benefit from double-glassing that would help with soundproofing outside noise and heating the room, which felt a little chilly until we were under the duvet. We now know the wifi password was displayed downstairs but not in the room. Which we had not realised until we were leaving. The bathroom could do with updating some tiles cracked and damaged, but mostly cosmetic things like toilet-roll holder broken away from wall and some age related cosmetic issues.
Get wifi info before going to room. Take ear-plugs for when bar empties after midnight. And enjoy a comfortable stay in Room 1. 💖
Fantastic stay. Wonderful historical decor. Even though I arrived very late at night and then told them I had to leave early they made arrangements for someone to come in at 6:30 especially to cook me a breakfast. It's this kid of thing you don't get in big multinational hotel chains. Everything else was great too.
Historical building with very comfy beds.
