Friendly, helpful staff in a traditional French hotel, plus wonderful breakfasts.
Pros:

I stayed for a week in this hotel in one of the nicest parts of Carcassonne - if you would like it quiet at night. Hotel de la Bastide is a four storey traditional French hotel. The bed I had (I assume all the others as well) was good quality, comfortable and clean. Towels were changed, or offered, frequently, and the shower worked without a problem, which at other places I have stayed has not always been the case. There was a fridge in the room I used (all clean of course). The breakfasts were lovely, a huge range of fresh bread, croissants, brioche, cakes, cereals, fruit, juices, cheeses, cold meats, egg, yogurt, etc, etc. The coffee, from a machine, was very nice (and I had lots). The hosts were very helpful, not only information about the area and suggestions, but also in any way needed if I asked. The two person lift I really appreciated. I even received a knock on the door when I needed to get up to catch the plane home, and my alarm clock didn't go off - what a thoughtful gesture!

Cons:

I didn't like getting a stomach problem from something I ate early on (and nothing to do with the hotel or Booking.com) but when there was an opportunity I asked for and received more toilet rolls, and I was well again after a few days. Just watch out for the gourmet pate!

Localização óptima / Necessita remodelação
Pros:

O quarto era agradável, as camas confortáveis mas o WC era super antiquado. Em geral as peças sanitárias eram pequenas e mal posicionadas, a janela do WC não abria e tinha um aranha que permaneceu no mesmo sítio em todos os dias da nossa estadia. As toalhas eram lavadas mas super velhas e gastas. A recepcionista foi sempre super simpática e agradável. O elevador era silencioso e rápido. O wifi era gratuito mas à noite estava sempre a falhar. Não tomamos pequeno almoço porque descobrimos uma boulangerie na Place Carnot muito boa e pelo preço por pessoa do hotel, pagávamos a totalidade dos 3. Localização perto da Gare SNCF e da ville basse muito boa.

Cons:

WC dos quartos muito antiquado e peças pequenas, toalhas velhas, janela do WC não abria, wifi sempre a falhar à noite. Em geral o hotel precisa de uma modernização. Carcassonne acabou por ser decepcionante. A vila medieval tem pouca história e está invadida por restaurantes. Vê-se a cidade num único dia. Acabamos por ficar aqui mais dias para visitar Bézier e Narbonne de comboio mas se calhar mais valia ter ido dormir noutro sítio. Só há restaurantes na Place Carnot e são medianos.
