Heath Cottage Hotel

Difficult to get to and in the room as I use a arm crutch but no handle to the building to hold as there is a v deep step even though it was given to me under the facade it was assessable for people with mobility issues. There was no restaurant, no food available and this was NOT told to me until AFTER payment was taken. Website had not been updated so gave false information. Where you could get a cup of coffee or soft drink we were told the place was closing at 7pm. As I found getting into the room difficult I actually only stayed one night not the two which I paid for. No where to relax other than the room as I was meeting friends and chose that hotel because it looked nice and offering social surroundings but it was untrue. When checking out a day early I went to the main building and found it still locked up even at 9 am. Had to ring a doorbell, no answer called the telephone number that was on the door as I was checking out and told just put the key in and key box on the wall behind me. I wasn't asked why I was checking out early so offered feedback which went down well and seemed appreciated

À notre arrivée, nous avons dû attendre près d’une heure devant la réception alors que l’établissement indique un enregistrement possible entre 15 h et minuit. Il n’y avait absolument personne sur place et nous avons dû appeler plusieurs fois avant d’être finalement rappelés pour obtenir les codes d’accès.

Une fois dans la chambre, nous avons découvert une pièce située sous les combles, où la chaleur était insupportable. Il n’y avait ni climatisation, ni ventilateur, et la chambre n’avait même pas été aérée avant notre arrivée. En quelques minutes seulement, il était impossible d’y rester tant il faisait chaud.

L’état de propreté était également inacceptable : les draps paraissaient sales, la moquette était très sale, les fenêtres étaient couvertes de traces de doigts et l’ensemble de la chambre donnait l’impression de ne pas avoir été correctement nettoyé.

J’ai immédiatement contacté l’établissement pour signaler ces problèmes et demander l’annulation de la réservation, car il nous était impossible de passer la nuit dans de telles conditions. La seule réponse que j’ai reçue a été qu’étant donné que c’était le week-end, personne ne pouvait intervenir et qu’aucune annulation ni aucune solution ne pouvaient être proposées.

Nous sommes restés moins de 30 minutes sur place avant de quitter définitivement l’établissement. Nous avons rendu les clés et avons dû trouver un autre hébergement à nos frais. Je trouve inacceptable de laisser des clients sans assistance face à une telle situation.

Would have liked to use the bar during our stay. More attention to detail required for cleanliness and general up keeping of the property

The facilities for making brew wasn’t great milk had been left out and had gone off with warm weather
