Everything! Especially the hospitality of the staff and the good - both dinner and breakfast were exceptional.

Had a wonderful stay! The room was perfect, the ambience was great, and the food was delicious. Highly recommended!

All round feel to the place. The staff were fantastic, every single one of them. We had our newborn with us and the team really did make everything so easy!

Food all excellent

We always like staying here as we come down to meetings held locally, on average 6 times a year. Always a very warm welcome. Very efficient signing in and out. Rooms are spacious (coffee machine always used!) and we usually request one not facing Watling Street. Atmospheric bar with cask ale. We have not eaten here but the evening menu looks excellent as does the breakfast. A bonus last week in the midst of the heatwave was the air-con in the room. We did not expect this. The World Cup evening last week downstairs (which did not disturb us upstairs!) was well-supported and there was tremendous atmosphere. Great to see The Red Lion being supported by folk. Well done one and all! It must be very hard working in hospitality at present so thank you to you all!

Was a lovely room, huge bed, lovely air con which was perfect in this weather… everything I needed for my stay. Toiletries supplied, lovely selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate. Perfect. Lovely staff, very helpful would 100% recommend and stay again. X

Superfint och tyst rum, härlig atmosfär med hjälpsam personal och väldigt god frukost! Perfekt läge för oss som anlände med bil till London för att besöka både stan (tågstation direkt över gatan) och Harry Potter studios (en kvart bort med bil).

Nights in room 14, a bigger comfy, it had a large king size bed with pillow top mattress and was extremely comfortable. A large tv and a small fridge. Good shower. Tea and coffee making facilities. Very good two night stay. Would definitely recommend and return

Our room was very nicely furnished and comfortable with a good complimentary drink selection. We also had a meal which was also of a very good standard, so very happy with our stay

Everything. We had a small dog and he was well catered for. They are very dog friendly.? The manager Paul was extremely helpful. Food was very good. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and great choice of food for breakfast.

What a little gem of a place. It was the perfect location for our family weekend and was great that it had parking. The rooms were very comfortable and had everything you could need. The staff were really lovely and so obliging. We saw the amazing fish and chips which we had and they did not disappoint. We really enjoyed eating and relaxing in the outside area which was made perfect by the gorgeous weather.

We like The Red Lion. We like the location, we like the vibe, we like the quirky rooms, even if that means climbing rickety-ish stairs to get to some of them (but that is part of the vibe) and thinks it's reasonable value. Oh, and the staff are always friendly too and it has a good bar with an outdoor area ideal for those late afternoon summer drinks.

Attending the Harry Styles concert, we stayed at this hotel and were genuinely impressed. The location is perfect — a lovely area just a one‑minute walk from the train station. Our room was clean, modern and comfortable, with one of the comfiest beds we’ve slept in.We ate and had drinks at the hotel and everything was great. The outdoor seating area is a lovely touch and made the stay feel even more relaxed.

The absolute standout, though, was Dan on reception. He is genuinely one of the best hospitality professionals I’ve ever met. Polite, friendly and incredibly helpful from the moment we arrived. He carried our bags upstairs, offered to leave drinks ready for when we returned from the concert, recommended a walk before we checked out, and even took the time to email me afterwards with the make of the bed‑settee because I’d commented on how comfortable it was.

Dan is a real asset to the hotel — every hotel needs a Dan. His kindness and professionalism made our stay memorable, and we’ll definitely return.
