Bathroom needed freshening uo

We experienced several issues during our stay. I have tried contacting Five Alls the discuss these issues over the past week and a half, twice via email and also via the chat function on the booking.com app. I have yet to receive a response or acknowledgment of the issues I raised. I’ve held off leaving a review as I wanted to give them a reasonable opportunity to respond and, hopefully, address some of the concerns we had. As it has now been over a week, I will go ahead and share our experience.

The Five Alls website and booking.com listing shows a photo of the standard of room we expected. Unfortunately, this is very different from the room we received. The website describes the rooms as: “All nine of the stylish and comfortable bedrooms have been given a complete refresh in a cottage style.” Given the condition of our room, we find this description difficult to understand, as there was a high level of uncleanliness and wear that, in our view, does not reflect a recently refreshed or well-maintained room, particularly at the price we paid.

The room clearly required a thorough deep clean. It was dusty, there was mould in the bathroom, and the fridge had dried-on spilt milk that had not been cleaned. The shower also did not drain properly and the bathroom had mould and dirt in several places. The walls and curtains were also marked.

One of the curtains also did not fully cover the window, leaving a large gap looking out into the beer garden and as a result we felt that we had very little privacy. One of the windows was also missing a curtain or blind all together. This also affected our sleep, as the room was flooded with light when the sun rose.

Breakfast was another significant disappointment. When booking, it stated that breakfast was included.

Bathroom was not the greatest build up of limescale all in the shower,plug was blocked when showering nearly came over the tray.room was very dusty bed not the comfiest. Breakfast disappointing no cooked breakfast included only continental if we wanted cooked we would have to pay £12 extra

I think they need to train their restaurant staff better. I had to return my main course because it was cold. Clearly it had been waiting to be delivered too long but in fairness, there was no dispute. My food was replaced and they didn't charge my glass of wine or the service charge so you cannot say fairer than that.

Nothing not to like

Well it was during the hot spell and it was too hot despite a fan in our bedroom. However, next time it would be best to take a down stair room

Communication was poor, no response to phone calls. Further from Lechlade than was clear in the description

Disappointing breakfast for the cost of the room. You would expect a full English breakfast to be included in the price not a very meagre continental breakfast. Very misleading on the booking .com website
