Everything was wonderful
The beach below the hotel.
Worst value ever for £425 a night . Room looked over a concrete block.
Everything on site
It seemed more than 300m to the beach
We absolutely loved our stay at 3HB Guaraná! We originally booked 7 nights, but we enjoyed it so much that we decided to extend our holiday for another 4 nights — and I think that explains everything! 😊
The staff were fantastic, always friendly, helpful and happy to assist with anything we needed. Our room was lovely, clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
The food was delicious, with plenty of variety. Having different restaurants to choose from was a huge bonus and meant there was always something new to try.
The hotel also has beautiful pools, and there was plenty of entertainment throughout the day and in the evenings. There was always something going on, but it never felt overwhelming.
We honestly loved absolutely everything about this hotel and had such a fantastic holiday. We would definitely return in the future and would happily recommend 3HB Guaraná to anyone looking for a great all-inclusive holiday! ❤️
A strong four star hotel! Family-oriented so can get busy but we stayed for a week and never queued for any food or drinks for longer than two minutes. The buffets were themed differently each night, but with the usual same bits for fussier children (fries, pizzas, hot dogs, burgers etc.) The hotel staff were superb and friendly, helping at every opportunity. The rooms were clean and tidy, serviced every single day. The pools offered enough variety and games each day to keep my five and seven year-olds entertained. The local shops for food and souvenirs are less than a five minute walk away. The local beaches are less than a ten minute walk, or a slightly longer fifteen minute walk if you prefer a scenic board walk. The only thing stopping me giving it a fifth star is that a true five star offers luxury and a little more peace. This is a brilliant family hotel and is high quality for a fair price.
Beautiful hotel only about 30 minutes from the airport. We had a fabulous time as a family of four and two grandparents.
We booked family rooms which were a good size, lovely balcony overlooking the swimming pools. Always exceptionally clean and the cleaning staff did a brilliant job!
All inclusive food and drink was fantastic. A super selection for every meal and different options every day. The dishes were delicious and it was so lovely to see the chefs looking proud of their creations too! You could see lots of the food prepared and we all loved it (aged 6-60). Special mention for the pancakes, steak (Mediterranean restaurant) and baked Alaska!! We only visited the Mediterranean restaurant once as it was fully booked so I do recommend booking the other restaurants as soon as you arrive.
The pools and daytime entertainment was fabulous. The pools are a little cool to start with but lots of hours spent having fun. The entertainment staff were so enthusiastic and our girls especially enjoyed the pool party! The adults loved the bar in the pool too!
In general, the hotel is exceptionally clean, the staff are brilliant and couldn’t be more friendly and welcoming and we had a fantastic holiday. We would definitely return and so glad we picked this hotel to visit.
Also recommend using Uber for travelling to the beach and Albufeira harbour (dolphin and cave tours were great). Only had to wait a couple of minutes for pick-ups and drop offs.
Beaches nearby are lovely but lots of steps/hill down just for those with limited mobility (or moaning children) so we used Ubers to help.
Stayed here for the 3rd time in around 10 years - the previous time was 7 years ago as we liked it that much
Needless to say the place hasn’t really changed apart from the huge upper wooden decking that wraps around the pool area.
Cannot really fault the place
Food is great with huge variety and with 2 other restaurants to also choose from.
The pool is freezing no matter what time of year it is
The only thing that does let the hotel down is the entertainment on an evening if you stay more than a week (we stayed 10 nights) it does get very repetitive and the entertainment team are not very good
That said - will probably go back in a few years time
Lots of positives to this hotel but the evening entertainment really lets it down.
Positives
Loads of variety and great quality food. Sushi at the Oriental restaurant is superb.
Hotel is really clean and the staff are really helpful and friendly.
Really easy to get sunbeds and no mad dash needed in the mornings.
Not so positives
Evening entertainment is really really poor. The worst I’ve ever encountered in an all inclusive. No good shows and just karaoke or rubbish quizzes. Made the evenings incredibly boring for everyone which was such a disappointment as the evening shows are normally our favourite part of holidays!
We cannot rate this hotel highly enough! We have had one of the best holidays here.
Check in was smooth and efficient.
The rooms are spacious and spotless.
We overlooked the pool so got the evening sun which was perfect on the balcony whilst getting ready for the night.
The entertainment team are fantastic. There's always something going on so you could never be bored.
Good selection of drinks, Super Bock, Sagres, top shelf gin and vodka, slushes and nice cocktails. Also good selection of sugar free drinks too.
The snack bar is probably the best we've been to, toasties, baguettes, chips, hotdogs, burgers, chicken nuggets, chips, sweet potato fries, cake, ice cream...the works! They really cater well for vegetarians too! Myself and daughter normally just survive on chips, bread and pasta. But at this hotel we have had a fantastic choice all week, at all the restaurants on site.
Evening entertainment is hit and miss but we always had fun watching it. There is also some nice cocktail bars a few minutes walk from the hotel to venture out.
Just want to make a special mention to our cleaner Simone...our room 227 and our daughters room 230 were cleaned spotlessly everyday and we had a different towel animal each day too which was brilliant 👏 Thank you Simone xx
We were celebrating our honeymoon and the hotel put rose petals, a bottle of champagne and a lovely note in our room aswell which was a lovely gesture.
All in all we would 100% return to this hotel which is something we dont really like to do but definitely would here!
Thank you for the wonderful memories we've made this year ❤️
Plenty of sunbeds all the time.
Staff nice, helpful and attentive
Pools not heated and not the deepest, but very big.
People are right about there being a lot of kids but it wasn't like being in a playground. Was absolutely fine with my girlfriend (both 21), no problem unless you don't like children at all.
Food is good not great.
10-15 minute walk to beach.
Travelling to town centre or other towns will require an uber.
Room was well cleaned, pretty big and very nice.
Plenty of bars (pool bar, wet bar, sport bar, + another bar) and lots of places to eat including a snack bar throughout the day. Soft drinks, beer and cider are self serve.
We had a lovely holiday at this hotel and really cannot fault anything.
The hotel is spotless. The cleaners don’t stop all day. Even the pool area gets a thorough clean on an evening.
We had a family twin room. Very spacious with plenty of storage.
Food was lovely. Plenty of choice and something for everyone. The desserts were also very nice. Normally i don’t touch dessert as they look good but taste of nothing but not here! The two additional restaurants are a nice change, the oriental had lovely sushi.
Drinks were also very nice. Different beers available along with cocktails that all tasted fine. There are self serve pumps for water, soft drinks and beer. Wine at the restaurant.
I took advantage of the spa and had a lovely massage. They regularly advertised 30% off!
My 5 year old loved the kids club once he decided he would try it. They did a variety of activities and the staff were lovely.
All the entertainment team were amazing. So friendly and full of energy but not pushy. They work so hard all day and there are a variety of things to do if you want to join in. The pool party on a Thursday is so much fun for everyone and everyone did seem to get involved.
The entertainment on a night was ok. A few nights its music/singer. The white night is a Saturday and is a disco with a raffle. The fair is fun for the kids and thats a Friday. Mini disco is every night at 8.
The pools were clean and fresh!! Yes they are cold but once your in they are fine. Big floats not allowed only small rings.
We chose portugal due to it being breezy and as we were going in July didn’t want it to be too hot.. the breeze is really nice and does make it feel cooler than it is which was perfect.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to any families.
My advice is get a uber from the airport but please advise your rep! It would have cost us 25euro however we did take the coach and we waited over 1 hr for people who never even turned up and then it was nearly 2 hours on the coach as we were the last drop.
We stayed for 7 nights in late June and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had 3 rooms in the family and they were all of a good standard. They were cleaned daily and the maid left us animals made from towels which were cute. The staff in the hotel were all friendly, especially the chap in the sports bar, who was hilarious each time we joined him for the football, especially when England were playing. The food in the restaurant was always good, and the oriental restaurant was extremely good. The location of the hotel is such that you can have a stroll outside the hotel at night to a few local bars. We visited the sea one day, but spent most days at the many pools. There were always lots of spare beds, and we managed to get 6 together every day. We don’t return to places we’ve previously stopped in, but if we did, we’d definitely revisit this hotel.
Booked for our family holiday, as our kids always break up early. 7 nights, could not fault this hotel. Very clean and was constantly kept clean, plenty sunbeds available even during busier time towards the end of our holiday. Atmosphere amazing, staff very polite, friendly and very helpful. Felt safe as very important when you have young children. Close to beach and shops and bars down the road, but felt like a quieter location which we loved. Used Uber and Bolt (discounts available) not too expensive to get to old town. Rooms spacious and loved that we were laced near our friends as well on the same ground floor which was easier with pram and kids. Spa amazing, access to pool with kids especially as baby found outdoor pools too cold. Could access daily and twice a day. Late breakfast option was a game changer as not all hotels offer this option, so didn't need to worry about missing breakfast if we wanted a lie in. Food was lovely, Mediterranean restaurant was the best. Asian restaurant was ok, but more like Indo- Chinese food. Snack bar fab food too, loved the walnut and almond cakes with gluten free options available! Ice poles available definitely needed them and slushies for kids, but also fab drinks. Good entertainment be it by the pool or in the evening with live music which we loved. Bouncy castle day got overwhelming so we went out for the evening. But great for kids. Only suggestion is to hire out ironing boards and irons to the rooms rather than in the laundry area only. Not practical. Also highly suggest staff remove towels off sunbeds where people reserve them before breakfast Nd don't return back for hours. Plenty of sunbeds available throughout the day but joggers do not help! Would be first come first serve basis only. Would return to this hotel for another holiday but would like a larger room as kid are getting older. Thank you for making our holiday lovely.
We have just returned from a fantastic stay at the 3HB Guaraná hotel as two families with children aged 12–15, and we all had a brilliant holiday.
The hotel itself is absolutely spotless. Everywhere is kept incredibly clean, and you can see how hard all the staff work. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, pleasant and always happy to help, making us feel very welcome throughout our stay.
The all-inclusive offering is excellent, with plenty of variety to suit everyone. We really liked that you can book into both the Mediterranean and Oriental restaurants as part of the package, which made a nice change. The sports bar is a fantastic addition, and I particularly loved that the snack bar feels like another restaurant rather than just a typical poolside snack bar. There are also plenty of places around the hotel to grab a drink, so you never have to go far.
The pool areas are excellent. We didn't use the smaller pool by the splash area, but it looked great for younger families. We mainly used the two larger outdoor pools—the quieter one was perfect for relaxing, while the larger pool had a great atmosphere with activities and entertainment throughout the day.
One thing worth mentioning is the sunbeds. They aren't the most comfortable and are positioned quite close together, but there are so many available around the hotel that there was never any need to get up early or join in any "sunbed wars." We enjoyed having a lie-in most mornings and still had no problem finding somewhere to sit.
Our room was spacious and comfortable. The only small improvement we'd suggest would be better beds for teenagers, but after busy days in the sun and around the pools, they slept well every night and certainly didn't complain.
The entertainment team struck the perfect balance. We didn't join in with every activity, but the ones we watched or participated in were really enjoyable. The team were enthusiastic without ever being pushy, which we appreciated. The evening entertainment was good overall, and the live band was particularly excellent.
Like others have mentioned, the coffee machines aren't the hotel's strongest point. I actually took my own coffee sachets and just added hot water at breakfast. However, I found the machine in reception made the best coffee, and the pool bar staff were always happy to make a fresh coffee too. I was also pleasantly surprised that they served zero-alcohol beer—a definite bonus for me!
The beach accessed via the steps is beautiful and well worth visiting. We also walked down to the smaller beach further along the road, which was much busier, but it was nice to stop for a drink and an ice cream while exploring the nearby shops.
Overall, this is a wonderful hotel for families. It offers great facilities, excellent food, hardworking staff and a relaxed atmosphere that made for a truly enjoyable holiday. We would definitely recommend it and wouldn't hesitate to return.
I rarely leave reviews but I have to for this hotel. We went as a family of three, including a pregnant wife and 3 year old toddler and I was nervous before going having seen some of the negative reviews.
Positives:
Sunbeds - there are probably enough sun beds for each guest to have two if they want to. There are loads free on the top deck if you fancy some peace and quiet.
Entertainment - the entertainment team are energetic and they keep the vibes going from after breakfast all the way up to after 10pm.
Food - there was plenty of choice available at the buffet and the Mediterranean buffet was sensational. As my wife is pregnant the chef cooked steak well done for my wife and brought it to our table.
Cleanliness - cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. Every square inch of the hotel in and out is cleaned every single day.
Pools - four pools including a pool bar and some indoor pools for those scared of water which some may call 'cold'. Something for everyone including kids. The splash park is amazing for kids.
Bars - there are plenty around the hotel and you can serve yourself. Any drink you can think of is available and they have 4 lagers on draft and 2 ciders on draft.
Negatives:
Main buffet - not a negative for me because I love fish, but one night there were no meat options at all just fish.
Oriental restaurant - good but the hot options were limited.
The water bottles you receive when you check in are a nice touch.
I've travelled a lot and this is the best 4 star hotel I've ever stayed at. We will definitely be back.
The thing that stood out was how clean the rooms and hotel was. It did not feel out dated at all. Very well maintained. Room service was excellent too. The room itself felt smaller than expected but was overall fine.
We travelled with a baby and 4 year old. The hotel was perfect for families with children. Plenty of activities and amenities on site. Food choice was great and the drink selection was good too - although I feel like there could have been some more premium choices made available. Staff were friendly and polite and willing to help.
The only major issue we experienced is that lifts were often out of service, which was frustrating at times but did not impact overall experience.
I would stay again.
