I enjoyed my stay The Moorland. What a beautiful location. Big thankyou to Sunil who is exceptional at his job. Lovely warm welcome.
I also enjoyed a delicious meal, veg jalfrezi, thanks to the chef!
I had a good nights sleep in a very comfortable bed.

The location is excellent. Just outside of Plymouth (On the edge of Dartmoor national park)
Great base camp for walking holidays
Great place to stay if you are staying away for work.
The people are kind and helpful.
it is good value for money.

The hotel in my opinion, is in need of a little TLC , it's a little worn around the edges and could do with a touch up, with regards to painting and decorating and general maintenance and repairs.

I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions and will continue to do so because i genuinely like the place, the people, and it is good value for money.

there are a few little things that could make it even better.

To give an example of general maintenance, the carpark has a wooden fence which is broken and has not been repaired for months. This doesn't affect your hotel room or your nights sleep, but it does affect the appearance of the hotel.

this also could be said for things like carpets etc. some of them could possibly do with an upgrade, as some are looking a little tired and aged .

Staff are amazing here, food is worth waiting for the chef is fantastic

The staff on site are, always, amazing. Both sunil and sudeep are helpful and friendly, couldn't do enough for thier guest and chef is fantastic always, smiling even when he's up against it, food is always worth the wait, we come back for them not the establishment which needs money spent on.

Cons:

The owner turned up to host a birthday party when we were there, there was no respect given by her party for the many elderly guest and people with small children trying to get to sleep. Money needs to be spent on this property before it falls apart, jacuzzi bath has been out of order for years, just remove it and update the bathroom without. Still currently advertised for on booking.com, although Sunil did tell me they requested it removed and dropped the price.

Made to feel very welcome.
Pros:

Fantastic location with superb view down to Plymouth and on the edge of Dartmoor. The staff were lovely and the food was freshly prepared and very nice and a very reasonable price. Room was fine, if basic, with nice clean and fresh bedclothes on a very comfortable bed.

Cons:

It needs a good refurbishment. It is dated and a bit threadbare but it is clean and priced appropriately.
