Faulty air con and unbearable heat in the room
Pros:

The staff were friendly and they dealt with my negative feedback well. The breakfast was fabulous.

Cons:

The aircon in the room we were first allocated was broken. We were then moved to a different room. This room had a double bed and I had specifically requested twin bed as I was travelling with my 17-year old daughter. The air con in this room did not work either and the windows wouldn’t open more than a few centimetres. It was one of the hottest days of the year and it must have been nearly 30 degrees in that room throughout the night. It was unbearable. I didn’t sleep a wink.

Excellent stay.
Pros:

Very clean. Welcoming. City centre. Breakfast, Close to rail stations etc.

Cons:

On our occasion the Ac wasn’t working but I’m sure they’ve addressed. Not a terrible need for AC in Newcastle but on this day. Wow. ☀️

Disappointing on this occasion and I feel for the cost of the room it was poor value
Pros:

Location. Been before several times and enjoyed experience.

Cons:

Arrived in time to find room not ready. Had to wait 40 mins which made us late for a function that was planned. Men’s toilet in reception area closed and there was a queue for the disabled toilet. When we eventually got into our room the air conditioning was not working on a very hot day. Had to attend reception again to organise a fan for the room in case the air con was not repaired for our return - which is wasn’t.

Pros:

It was clean, comfy and quiet. I liked the lighting in the room, which was very good for reading in bed and I also had a lovely shower. There was also a mirror for doing your makeup which is helpful.

Cons:

There was no free tap water only two cans in the minibar. I always think it's nice if there is a refillable glass bottle of water. It doesn't need to be chilled in the fridge, just left with the tea/coffee facilities.

Hot
Pros:

The staff were excellent. I have stayed many times and normally rate the hotel very highly.

Cons:

We deliberately chose the hotel for the location and the fact that it had air conditioning. We chose a superior room to enhance the stay. Unfortunately the air conditioning was not working. So the room was virtually unusable. This seemed like a known problem, so the adver for the hotel should be changed, air conditioning should mean working air conditioning.

Fantastic value for money! Comfy and quiet.
Pros:

Everything. Except.......

Cons:

Member of staff that really shouldn't be doing that job. Violent remarks made in earshot of guests.
