Food and drink
Price was a little high for what was given
Good size bed, generous sheets and covers
The over bath shower was a bit difficult to angle - I ended up just holding the shower head - but pressure and temperature both good
Good location for my stay nice local walks too
Slightly dated and not great food options for allergies
Good breakfast but plates were cold which left the food not as hot as could be
Location
Hair in the basin. My wife is disabled and the shower tap was very stiff to use. Toilet door lock not working. No air conditioning
Beautiful surroundings
There was a bad smell on the ground floor corridor and in the room itself. Like a stale smell and no air circulating.
The seaguls were the alarm clock at 4am and it didn't stop. Had the worse sleep ever. The room was stifling hot and there was no air con or fan in the room.
Although it said "Dog friendly", dogs were only allowed in the room or reception. So if you wanted to go for a few drinks in the bar, the dog stays in the room, which in my experience of dog friendly bars/hotels, the dog can sit in the bar.
The breakfast was not the best. I love fruit and yogurt for breakfast and if you don't like water melon or water melon then you will be disappointed.
Nice and clean, comfy bed, decent sized room
Room was hot but the weather was hot outside, could've maybe had a fan in the room
Room was modern and clean, breakfast was excellent.
Stayed in a chalet with family, sleeps 6 people only 4 in our party. From going to reception to us leaving it was a lovely experience. Grounds are lovely to walk around, seeing the swans & baby’s to wild rabbits in the gardens. Rooms have 1 bed , wardrobe , drawers and chair. Shared toilet with shower and extra shower room. Sitting area with small kitchen with utensils. Lots to do in the area, beautiful park 5 minutes walk away from chalet. Will definitely be back again.
Location is great.
Nice but needs a little sprucing up.
Booked here for a wedding we have stayed here before so we knew what to expect.Only one person on reception who was friendly and asked us if we had put our car registration in the car booking system at the side of the reception desk which we had.The room we got this time was on the second floor and was bigger than the room we had on our first stay. The rooms are tired but clean the room had a smell of peat better when we opened the windows. We didn’t book breakfast but the food at the wedding was very good and the service was excellent. The only downside was only one bar and shared with other guests again bar staff were friendly and were working hard to serve everyone.Check out was fine.Great view from the garden of the William Wallace Monument.
