Pros:

Amazing building, Decorated in keeping with its design. The location was great and the staff were nice. The room we had was incredibly spacious.

Cons:

Coffee machine, kettle, tv etc were very outdated. Coffee machine made a very weird noise and did not feel safe. The room was clean, but not 100% spotless

Lovely old building with great views, very nice swimming pool and walking distance to country pub
Pros:

Lovely old building with great views. Swimming pool was lovely. Next to the old bishops palace which was very interesting. There was also a very nice pub (the dial inn) just 10-15 min stroll away - they did lovely food

Cons:

It would be nicer to have an 11am checkout

Cons:

Room at back of building, facing a wall and a high bank.
I don't go to a hotel to sit and look out of the bedroom window but, a bit of a view would be nice, especially for the price paid. Room a little 'tired'.

Mainly fair but some staff were uncooperative!
Pros:

The hotel was clean comfortable

Cons:

We were staying 4 nights and the on the 3 rd night my daughter and children had move as there was not another family room free! I understood this when booking( I had a room of my own in the main building! Unfortunately the receptionist would or could not tell us when the room would be ready for occupancy ! When booking I was told the room would be spacious and plenty of room for the bed settee which the staff were making up! When the room was aventually ready I found it small could not move around the bed not as was suggested when booking and not in the front of the Hotel as was told when booking!

Lovely relaxing country house hotel experience
Pros:

Repeat stay for us / love the flexibility of the courtyard studio rooms. Always well equipped and comfortable and spa is very welcome.

Angenehmes Landhaus mit tollem Restaurant
Pros:

Sehr aufmerksames Personal, sehr gutes Essen in allen Bereichen und ruhige schöne Lage. Heizung wurde auf Rückfrage sofort eingeschaltet und Zimmerpersonal war extrem aufmerksam. Man versucht alles die Anlage zu pflegen und nett zu betreiben.

Cons:

Es ist halt in die Jahre gekommen, das wird leider immer sichtbarer, für viele aber genau der Charme. Der SPA war Recht kühl und die Buchung für Anwendungen hat leider mehrfach nicht funktioniert.

Great hotel setting and spa
Pros:

Great setting grounds are lovely and the spa was really nice

Cons:

We stayed in studio 230 which was great with a kitchen which was really great but we were disappointed with the lounge and bedroom area as whilst it was a pet room there was a strong smell on the carpets possible a pet accident which didn’t make it enjoyable to sit in. We pay extra to bring a dog but don’t really expect the room to smell and be clean. The staff were lovely but made no attempt to offer any compensation when advised.
We also had no heating so had wet towels for 3 days . The kitchen windowsill also flooded due to the rain and our belongings got wet. It would have been nice to have been offered a gesture of goodwill. The carpets do need cleaning and the window fixing as it is a great space but could do with an upgrade to meet the nice standard of the kitchen. It was also a shame that hotel offers EV charging which is great but unhelpful when they have a coach blocking both parking spaces.
