Lovely modern room.
Good size tv
Feather duvet
Parking was hap hazard. I had to park all the way around the back of the hotel in the public car park. Poor signage as to how to enter the hotel from here.....no internal access from the back (not told this at reception). Bit disconcerting re security notices
Great location, lovely bar, comfortable beds.
Parking isn't ideal, very little and on a busier weekend you would be on the street.
Top floor restaurant and bar with good food. Great service at reception when I arrived and comfortable room.
Need to do something about the room WIFI situation. The standard hotel connection is awful and location is a bit of a dead zone for hot spotting. There is an alternative but you need to request it as no details in room.
Room 206 near the lift - very noisy
Room itself was fine.
breakfast was extremely expensive and the quality was dreadful - the service in the breakfast room was also poor, -miserable kitchen staff
Between the breakfast and the PARKING situation I would not stay at the Canberra Rex again. The Pavillion up the road has all the same good facilities, with secure parking and a great choice and layout of breakfast at a reasonable price.
Your reception staff were informative and friendly.
PARKING SITUATION AND TERRIBLE BREAKFAST
We loved the convenient location. The restaurant on site made it easy for us after being out all day. Food was great.

I stayed for a week at this hotel. On two separate days I returned after a day at work to find my room unlocked. On the first occasion I was prepared to accept there had been human error by cleaning staff. I reported to the helpful front desk manager immediately and asked to be escorted to my room and for him to check that the room was secure before I entered which he willingly did. The staff assumed it was to do with an automatic door closer which they then had their maintenance team adjust. On the same evening I discovered my fridge had malfunctioned and turned into a "hot box". Food items I stored there perished. That problem was fixed the following day. Staff kindly put my newly purchased items in the staff fridge overnight.
Two days later I again returned to find my room unlocked. I found this completely unacceptable, given that the hotel knew there had been a problem. When I allowed the door to close itself on leaving it worked perfectly. A hotel that cannot ensure security of guest rooms is not taking their business or competition seriously enough in my view.
Thankfully my valuables were in the room safe. But my personal safety was as much of an issue for me.
I could not recommend this hotel to any female guest travelling alone.
How close it was to the pubs and clubs
Staff on reception firstly judged and belittled my wife and I , then proceeded to show arrogance and indifference. Smug !
Noise, food, swimming pool
Location
No seating in room
Sauna and bed great.
Table dirty, no simple utensils for cheese and biscuits plate. Bottle of wine provided but no opener. Simple things missing.
