Historical comes with all the pros and cons
Pros:

The location is ideal for exploring historic Canterbury! Continental breakfast was good quality food from Tesco.

Cons:

The street-facing rooms are subject to loud trucking noise at night. There are countless stairs to navigate with your suitcases. It was ungodly hot. The building is very old so all the floors are sloping and uneven.

A charming slightly quirky friendly hotel right in the centre of the city
Pros:

You could not be more central than at the Cathedral Gate. Breakfast was good, staff very helpful, free water much appreciated in the heat wave.

Cons:

Literally nothing. The only issue would have been disability access for someone with limited mobility. I think they would struggle, but its a building from medieval times they were short of lifts in those days.

Pros:

Cons:

Pros:

Quirky, comfortable, outstanding place.
Pros:

We loved the quirkiness of staying in the Cathedral gate wall. The room was comfy and clean and the people who worked at the hotel were amazingly kind and a font of wisdom

Cons:

We had a bit of trouble figuring out how to get to the place., since we had to drive through the Ballards to pull the car up. Might want to send an email out about this (maybe you did and I missed it.

Whispers from the past where pilgrims stayed.
Pros:

Position is unsurpassed. I could see the cathedral.
It's a collection of very old buildings which once sheltered pilgrims.
24/7 reception were always helpful.
Suggestions given for what to see.
Nice breakfast, excellent fruit salad.
Able to adjust heating to personal preference.
Room and bathroom serviced daily.

Cons:

I was a bit nervous as my room was accessed via the roof and I was concerned about intruders. However rooms have a phone and I was encouraged to contact reception if I needed anything.
