Napier is gorgeous and this hotel sums up the art deco ness of it

Outside noise , no sky on tv to watch . And no noise when in the bar to watch rugby.

Good place to stay for the art deco activities
Pros:

Loved the room and access to the balcony - good place to read on a sunny day. Attended the art deco lunch - burlesque show was great.

Historic buildings are precious, and this one is packed with surprises.
Pros:

Wonderful location for view of Hawkes Bay and the sunrise. Authentic hotel with loads of enjoyable memorabilia. Car-parking close. Helpful staff. Affordable breakfast.

Character, friendly staff, great location and affordable

Cons:

There was no parking in front of the building to drop off our luggage so parked a few mins away (which was fine as we didn’t have much luggage).

It was comfortable but the shower was a problem

The bed was nice the room was nice

I didn’t like the very small bathroom I couldn’t close the shower door if I closed the shower door it was that small it turned off the water

Pros:

I have stayed at your establishment more times than I care to remember and it has always, always been one of my favorite places to rest my head. It is so comfortable and close to everything I need. The service is always superb and the rooms are so welcoming. My first choice every time.
