Holiday Inn Express & Suites Fredericksburg by IHG

I slept well and the staff was friendly. The room was clean and the a/c worked great. The shower was hot and the pool looks beautiful. They’ve done some renovations as you can smell new carpet on the first floor. We had a double queen reserved and were easily switched to a king at check-in when we asked. The pool is way above average for Holiday inn Express.

On the negative side, our room on the second floor smelled like an alcohol swab. Might have been a cleaning product but whatever it was—it was strong. The balcony furniture needs replacing. This area of the room doesn’t appear to get cleaned with the room, as it was very dirty.

Breakfast was typical Holiday Inn fare. They don’t yet have the new coffee machines at this location. A slight miscue is the sign on the lobby wall indicating breakfast at 6:30. It’s an old sign—breakfast is at 7:00.

Lots of positives but a few negatives too. The room was spacious with comfortable beds and bedding and the room temperature was great. The main room was clean. The bathroom , however, had a few issues. The floor was dirty and the tub was a little slippery so we put a hand towel down in the bottom. The soap is all liquid. There was no bar soap. The towels and water pressure were good though and the tub and sink area were clean. The breakfast in the morning was decent with good coffee. We did not use the pool but it looked very enticing. The hotel is in a good location and close to everything.

Have stayed here before & they continue to keep it updated. Easy complimentary parking & close to Downtown, but away from the busy Hwy 290 traffic corridor on Main St. Employees have always been courteous & helpful & it continues to have good housekeeping & a toilet issue was quickly fixed by maintenance. Offers the "usual" Holiday Inn Express breakfast if that is of any interest? Need to get rid of the badly stained, worn & unsightly upholstered furniture & dirty carpet in the breakfast room, & clean off all the bird droppings from the upper windows. Rooms with balconies face a pleasant pool area which may be of interest, but they also get more traffic noise than non-pool-facing rooms without balconies.

This hotel is nice but tired in places. The chairs on our balcony were covered in stains. There is a lovely pool but it wasn’t clean - full of dead crickets and dirty. Wouldn’t take much to get them out with a net each day and keep the inside of the pool clean. Easy walking distance from the main street.

The only thing I can kind of complain about is the remote control was absolutely filthy. Other than that, it was a great stay.

Pretty much does what it says on the tin - perfectly good for an overnight, as we did, or for a short stay. Room was huge, with two televisions, one in the sitting area & one opposite the end of the bed. Bed was also huge & very comfortable. Room & bathroom were clean. Breakfast was what one expects in this sort of hotel - nothing to write home about but ok if you're only here for a short time.

No connecting rooms at all. Really? At these prices. What is a family with with special needs children (or adults for that matter!) suposed to do. I think that installing some connecting doors would be a worthwile investment for this facility if you are intending to advertise it as a family buisness.

I was disappointed that there was a hole in our couch cushion. There was also stains in hat could have been wiped before we got there. I did and it was removed easy. Breakfast remains the best. The pool needs to be cleaned more

Good water pressure and dove products. But overall very unfriendly vibe. Breakfast was good. Pool was not cleaned of leaves.

Limited parking and extra bed isn’t clean but those are typical of chain hotels, besides those the staff were very polite and helpful, the hotel in general is very clean, the amenities are good, and the main strip isn’t too far. Would stay here again the next time we visit.

Everything was great until I wanted to extend my stay but the price had tripled because it was a Friday. It was great but not THAT great. I left. I'll spend a Tuesday night there or something in the future.

The hotel was a very pleasant stay. We made the front desk aware that our mini fridge wasn’t working and a couple lights were out but that didn’t bother us. We just wanted them to be aware.

The pool is beautiful. Due to the weather we couldn’t swim but my kids really wanted to. The complimentary breakfast was good! Nothing fancy by any means but you can tell they take pride in serving quality items. The cinnamon rolls are yummy. The turkey sausage was tasty (trust me I was skeptical).

Overall, the hotel is in a good location and we would recommend staying there. The staff was very friendly too.

Staff very friendly and courteous, Food was great. The pool fountain (main attraction) Broken and the pool was dirty - Hot tub is very hard to access big step up and down. But the rest of it was great. I would recommend but just don’t get this place if you like the pool photos

Quiet and staff is wonderful

The pool in this property was nice but a bit dirty. The hotel was pretty clean overall and the breakfast was good.

Nice ladies in the front office were very helpful!
