Good location and friendly staff
Room was too warm and if the window was open too noisy. It was disappointing that you cannot reserve one of the limited parking spaces. Alternative parking is several hundred meters away.

We have stayed before and it was a buffet breakfast, this time we had to order breakfast and it wasn’t that good. Room size was small especially the shower.
Breakfast & Shower were decent...
(Breakfast was better back in early January'26 tbh, because it was served on buffet basis and they had a very friendly Portuguese manager in charge that made all the difference...)
Where do I start ?
A) I've requested a quiet room, days before...what did the receptionist do ? They plonked us in possibly the most basic, uncomfortable and noisy room, also the easiest for the receptionist to assign to..No1, never in that room again!!!
B) The Room had a very uncomfortable Mattress and was narrow for 2 people...
C) There was a health and safety issue and we reported it to the receptionist immediately after we checked in...the window didn't have a lock!!!! (See picture) needless to say she did nothing and no message left in the room to state that at least they looked at it, VERY LAZY RECEPTIONIST!!!!!)
D) Due to the issue of the unsafe window, the room could let in the incredibly loud noise (Loud Humming) of the extractor that was only 3 meters from our room, see attached picture!!! I mean when my wife stayed in another room last year (but at the back side of the hotel as well) the noise was still coming through a closed window but this time, Room no 1, not only it let more noise due to the lack of a lock in the window, it was also much closer to the noisy extractor compared to the room she stayed lady year...
E) Lack of Communication is the WORST of all issues tbh..
The room
Breakfast was poor, not cooked properly
The staff were generally very pleasant and helpful.
The room was very hot despite a desk top fan. The bed was very uncomfortable. The sink and bath did not drain properly and the lighting in the room did not work and we had to call for assistance. We were told that we would have to pay £5 to park in the car park of the sister hotel opposite as there were no parking places available at the Bold. This then increased to £8.30 as we had been given incorrect information.
